I've been watching 4k UST projectors specifically looking for low latency for gaming. In my experience, LGs (1080p models I've tried, including OP one) may be almost passable latency-wise for very casual gaming, but you'll definitely feel it if responsiveness is required. All 4k USTs seem to have very high latency (like 50-100ms) in specs, except potentially the newly announced optoma cinemax p2, which will be closer to $3k I think
There is a chromed plastic reflector thy bounces the projection beam. Mine became corroded in just a few weeks and LG wants 300 for a replacement.
I bought an open box one from Amazon but returned it because there's too much input lag for gaming.

I've been following this and for a while, and I think it is a good price for brand new.

Also it beats their last offer by $250 https://slickdeals.net/f/14123186-lg-hf85la-laser-cinebeam-ultra-short-throw-smart-home-theater-projector-1349-more-free-s-h?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1

I just got it for open box (like new) from an eBay seller for roughly the same price including tax.

I missed Xiaomi when walmart had it for $1500 during thanksgiving which would have allowed my living room to be used as a media room.

Happy with $600 refurb viewsonic 4k.

Anyone know what the price point would be for samsung?

I don't know why at these price points, one would not opt for LED over Laser. All specs seem equal, except laser costs more and does not last as long.

Right now I'm looking at the
https://www.lg.com/us/home-video/...-projector (LED)
and the
https://www.lg.com/us/home-video/...-projector (LASER)

Specs (LG):

LED laser
lifetime 30k.hrs 20k.hrs
contrast 150k 150k
brightness 1500L 1500L

Plus, buydig has a shadyish reputation and I would not trust their "open box scuffed" nonsense, especially with a projector

I own a LG short throw LED, and love it for casual tv/movies

I finished my basement around a ceiling mounted projector being 12' away from the wall. So all these short throw projector deals just mean that soon a "regular" 4K projector will be around $500... which is how much I paid for my 3,000 lumen Optoma 4 years ago.

I have the 1080p equivalent. The reflective mirror was on eBay for $75 shipped from Korea. There's a video on YouTube how to replace it. 30 mins or so.

Can this (or any other) short throw projector he mounted on the ceiling? I have a stealth setup with a retractable screen with no media center/credenza to set this on.

Currently I have an old viewsonic that's hidden in a cabinet on the other side of the room but the bulb is going so it's time to upgrade.

Indeed! Been tracking this one too. However, it's really hard to find reviews on this specific model it appears .. maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Even tried YouTubers
