After that I listened to a lot of speakers, and ended going with a full Klipsch RP series setup. A lot of people said they're too bright, but they sound perfect to my ears. I've been really happy with them. I'm no sound engineer but I am a musician if that means anything or not, I don't know... Maybe the Klipsch are bright, but I thought the ELACs sounded dull and muddy, so maybe my ears like bright speakers. I know this doesn't apply to subwoofers but long story short, I don't go by speaker sound reviews anymore. It's tough to know what will sound good to you compared to a reviewers ears... Reviews are good for build quality but to me thats about it... So I guess it depends on what they said in the reviews.
I say go listen to as many speakers as you can till you find some that sound good to you.
I've tried both and the r112sw was noticeably louder and sounded better to me. But whether its worth almost double the price is questionable. Depends on a lot of things... your finances and what you would like to spend, how big of a room you're using it in, whether you currently have a sub or not, etc.
If you don't have a sub now, the cheaper one would make a huge difference... The r112sw is a noticeable upgrade, but you would have to decide if its worth it to you.
Yamaha receivers are good.
I would save, spend more on an HSU, that Monoprice deal that is out there, SVS, or Rythmik. What is likely to happen here is you spend $300 and want to upgrade it in 18 months, and then spend $600-700 to get one of those which I mentioned

I would be buying two.
should i wait for HOPEFULLY a svs sale for the PB-1000 on an outlet deal/scratch/dent on their site to maybe see it for ~$400

The svs warranty is much better. The svs is "better" (louder and deeper) but not worlds better. It's not a huge difference like going from the entry level Klipsch sub like r12 or r120. Your basically going up a level.

It seems to have a good reputation and reviews for the price through various sites.
IT has 50 less RMS watts than this Klipsch. I really was torn of getting this, but the cherry finish would stick out like a sore thumb in my space and the wife would not approved. If it was black because BLM, i might have steered more to this.
Anyone have the BIC F12 or the PL-200 and compare it with this or switched?

Go Dual subs. You place them across the room from each other. It will smooth out the peaks and dips that you invariably get with very long bass waves bouncing around a room. With one sub, the bass will be super loud in a few spots and seem to disappear in other spots.
Google "Harmon white paper multiple subwoofer" to read their research findings on the benefits of multiple subs and how to place them for maximum effectiveness.

You will get many opinions on this, I'll give you mine.
Many factors go into that question a couple important ones, what your expectations are and what you want to accomplish.
If your expectations is just to get a lot of "boom" in your entire "home theater room", two of these will do that for you.
If you are only concerned with your seating position(s) one good sub can give you adequate performance with better quality(depending on the size of your seating position(s) & placement).
In general if quality is more a priority the HSU will give you more of that, there is a reason why these regularly go for this price.
If a larger dispersion of sound is more the priority immediately, two of these will give that.
Personally I prefer quality over quantity especially if I find I need more quantity I can always add another quality later on.
