I don't recall their power tools ever having the lifetime warranty, but I could be wrong. Lowe's, however, will honor the warranty on hand tools. I just traded in a 20yr old set of vise grips whose spring had broken, and they didn;t hassle me at all.

Power tools never had the lifetime warranty. Hand tools did and still do.

Note that the V20 stuff from Lowes is not compatible with the 20V stuff from Sears/Kmart.
