The Denon AVR-X3700H is in stock now on Greentoe. I submitted an offer of $850 and received a counter offer of $949. No tax or shipping in Texas makes this the best online deal for this receiver.
Pretty good, this is really the receiver people should be saving for before getting into the very high end
This is a great receiver. I have had nothing but good luck with Denon.
I would wait though as this only has one HDMI 2.1 input. I would end up wanting to upgrade this in a year. Not everything will need 4k 120hz but give me at least 3 of them for the two next gen consoles and a pc and that should last a while.
I just snagged one from Crutchfield for full price a few days ago. Greentoe just sold me one for the same price as the OP. Looks like this first one is going back.
Excellent deal! People used to getting the previous model for $500-600 need to understand that isn't happening post-Covid. This is likely the best price you'll see on a 2020 Denon / Marantz for the foreseeable future.

With Frys no longer dealing like they used to, I think the days of sub $500 Denon 3000 series receivers is over

Spending the extra money on a Denon or Marantz is a wise choice. after I moved up to their 4000 series my upgrade-itus ended and I've been content for 4 years. I'm shocked at the price of the 3000 series like some of the others. But it seems like they are packing a lot into this line.

Can you help me understand why?
It can do 5.2.4 out of the box ( 9 channels plus the sub). I believe you'd need a preamp to do the extra 2 channels you want for the surrounds.
Supply chain issues and much leaner stocking levels. They're not over producing because things are more difficult and expensive to make
