Decent TV. It's been out a couple years. $300 seems retail these days.

Is there any difference between them? This model is 55S423 and the Walmart model is 55S421.

Nothing. That's walmarts thing. They don't have to price match different "models".

This is a VERY dim TV. I bought it for my parents and they love it but it's not in a sunny room. If you purchase this TV just know that going in. $280 for 55" w/roku and 4k is pretty good.

I have the 50" version of this TV. It's an incredibly solid display for the price. A good step above the "no name" brands. The black level is considerably better than the 4K LG I had (which died during a power surge, and rather than try to have fixed we just bought the TCL). There are very few bells and whistles, and some more advanced custom adjustments require you to download the Roku app, but otherwise it's been really good. The built in Roku is probably the best smart tv OS, as app support is just better. Samsung and LG both have their own custom OS, so apps can sometimes lag behind.

Just FYI, we paid around $250 for the 50", which is also the current price for the 50" at WalMart ($248).

Not just WalMart. I think I've seen other retailers get their own custom model number for what's basically the exact same TV. I'm not 100% sure why, but it could be related to returns and/or as you say price matching with other retailers during big sales, or warranty coverage.
