Every time I think I've found the deal I'm looking for on a TV I read all the comments on here and it convinces me otherwise.
Yeah... not much info on this model. From what I've heard, it seems to be the native 60hz version of the sm8600, and was replaced by the NANO81 this year. Neither of those get very bright and they have disappointing contrast ratios.

I almost hit "buy" on this one as I'm looking for a good mid-range TV for the basement. My first search showed this as an AWESOME tv for the price. But then realized I was looking at the SM8100PSA not the SM8100AUA.

I can't tell if this has the same viewing angle specs (important for playing games in the basement) cause like others have said, there's no reviews out there.

Think I'm gonna wait for black friday and maybe get something with native 120Hz for the same price.

(Does appear to be a good deal though!)

Seems like a nice deal but I can't find many reviews on this model. Anyone know what the peak brightness is?

Get a new tcl 6 series. 55' retails for $650 and you get 120hz, 4k, and hdr10. The only thing it doesn't have is hdmi 2.1

My P607 just started dying yesterday after 3 years. Looks like backlight leds on left side have died Frown I'm a bit hesitant buying TCL again.

Could be wrong but it might be the same TV? Different retailers use different letters at the end of the model #.

That's right. They use different model numbers so you can't get a price match. Costco and Sam's often carry the same TV, but the model number is specific to their store.

The one ending in PSA seems to be a Latin america variant

I have the 8600 nano. The best thing about it was it came with 6 months of free Disney+ that the kids loved.

There is nothing special about the picture, but the audio is so unnatural that people speaking sound better on the tiny 22" Bestbuy Insignia than this big LG TV.

I watch a lot of classic TV and have the sounds of old TV shows imprinted in my brain.

On the 22 inch Insignia Col. Hogan and Ward Cleaver sound normal.

On the big LG TV, Col. Hogan sounds like the strained horse voice of Marcus Aurelius. Ward Cleaver sounds like horse Marcus Aurelius.

Music sounds fine, but speaking voices do not sound normal at all.

Hooking up an external bluetooth speaker, any sound can barely be heard at 100% volume, so that doesn't sound good either.
