In the market for a new one but a lot of the reviews mention small size and inaccurate measurements. Pass.

Don't waste the $$, BMI via it's own *creator* [a mathematician], is a *poop* indicator of weight/obesity.

When athletes are considered 'obese', you know your metric deserves to be left on the ash-heap of History

Some athletes are quite obese - football and baseball

It was never intended to be a measure for individuals. The guy who invented only intended it to be a broad measure of the overall obesity of an entire society or country.

But health insurers love it. Put otherwise healthy people into higher risk categories then charge extra without additional risk.

Your weight isn't a great way of doing that.
If you really want to do that I would suggest using something like map my fitness app. Tracking what you eat will help much more with it.

These are 10" x 10" and very light. You can barely step on them. I had ordered a couple but returned them. I prefer the 12" x 12" ones.

I have a similar Chinese product and believe me, the BMI application will be gone from AppStore after few years. Dont waste money and buy a good "made in USA" scale

I, like you, and many others loathe the BMI as a metric to show health that my insurer tries to use. I'm 5'10, 195lbs and have 11% body fat, so, not obese in the slightest sense.
However, according to the BMI scale, I'm well into the obese range and probably should be shopping for a coffin or at least diabetus medicine.

As others have stated, MapMyFitness or MyFitnessPal is a good, free way to go. Probably better to just weigh yourself weekly.

If this is not accurate, can someone recommend a quality scale reasonably priced?
