With a bad charger, u can destroy the battery over period. With branded chargers, there will be no overheating, no fires...

Same deal was posted yesterday. Very spammy. Not putting my $1200 phone and $400 watch on this thing.

Dunno... I have cheapo charger (iVoler, whatever it is) from Amazon and using it daily for almost 2 years. So far so good.

I have a super cheap wireless charger from 5 Below. It works fine but my phone definitely gets warmer than it does on the Samsung wireless charger I have. Granted, the Samsung has a built in fan. But seeing that heat during charging can damage batteries over time, it might be worth spending that little extra. Not saying this is not a good quality charger.

Most of the control for charging is actually controlled by the phone itself, this is misinformation and a blanket statement. Phones have temperature sensors, and will control the input so it does not damage or overheat. On the flip side chargers can have dirty power and not be consistent. Same goes for AC power at your home and why it's always a good idea to use a line conditioner on nicer equipment like computers, receivers, etc.

Apple marketing at its best, they just want you to buy OEM and overcharge for an oversized brick. You can get just as good of quality out of good non-apple brands, Anker has been my choice for chargers and cables and are priced right with good quality and performance.
