I had read all of the heaps of praise about this game, but like a moron I didn't actually give it a chance until a couple weeks ago.
Oh. My. God. I have been up until 5am with friends playing this game every night. I am NOT a big RPG player, I'm an action/FPS/competitive multiplayer guy all the way, but this game is scratching an itch that I didn't even know I had.
The same developer is making Baldur's Gate 3, supposedly releasing *edit: hitting early access* at the end of this month.
Fantastic game, I've put 77.5 hours in so far according to Steam and I just started the last act.

I have this game and tried playing like 4 times now. When does it start to hook you in? Not into it so far. I love games like Witcher 3, even Diablo 3.
Does anyone know if you can play multiplayer with the GoG version?
Yes, you can. Played through it with a 4 player group. 3 on Steam. 1 on GoG. You've gotta use the Direct Connect option to join the game, and it works fine.

First act in particular draws you in so expertly it becomes hard to put down.
Jealous of you all who get to experience it for the first time!
