iPhone XR 64GB $149, 128GB $199 ATT loyalty department

I called ATT loyalty department today to see what deals they had, and their $149 iPhone XR deal is back. They had most colors available for 64GB and 128GB, but no 256GB phones at all. You must call ATT (dial 611 from an ATT phone) and ask for the loyalty department. Requires a 2 year contract upgrade like the good old days.

No it's not a commitment. You purchase in full. I did this a few weeks ago. I did get hit with a $45 upgrade charge though

wrong it's a 2 year contract so if you leave early you will be hit with an ETF

Dang. They told me no activation fees. I guess I'll see when I get the bill.

The fees are usually dependent upon your FAN discount.

At my organization, we actually have two different FAN discounts. One for 20% off but I had to pay activation fee or 17% and no activation fees. You can usually get the activation/upgrade fees waived through chat or phone csr. With all the unlimited plans getting no discount, I switched over to the lower one so I wouldnt have to contact them.

Can someone help me understand when these non-5G phones be useless? I would hate to get a phone that isn't 5G only to have to replace within 2 years. ATT sent that messed up email earlier in July for which they got flack where they insinuated that all these phones will be useless. I understand that middle of 2022 is when the old 3G phones or 4G that don't have VoLTE will become useless but what about the phones like iPhone XR or Note 10? Thanks

iPhone XR has VoLTE. I didn't lookup the specs for the Note 10 but I'm sure it has it as well. VoLTE is available as far back as the iPhone 6.
