What movement does this have? I was thinking about getting this for my brother's birthday but I know he's a bit particular about the internals.
Tissot calibre Powermatic 80 (C07.111) automatic movement, based upon ETA 2824-2, containing 23 Jewels, bitting at 21600 vph, and has a power reserve of approximately 80 hours
Really dislike the yellow-gold tone/color. Is the movement much better than ETA movement found in a Hamilton at a similar price point?
i cant say to the hamilton ETA based movement, it has 25 jewels to the 2824 having 23. jewels arent everything. but imo the 2824 is the gold standard of swiss autos.
and both brands have good reps, i doubt they would sell a watch with a questionable movement.
T0864071103100 - Luxury Powermatic 80 Silver Dial Men's Watch is $299.99 without the code. Got in March for the same price. Solid watch for the money imo.
The reason this is a fairly impressive deal is that this is a Certified Chronometer - COSC certified. The Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC), the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, is the institute responsible for certifying the accuracy and precision of Swiss watches. Most COSC certificates go to Rolex, Omega and other exclusive high end Swiss watchmakers.
