Edit: I read the instructions and see the option for one but I don't think it is required for dimming just for additional dimming range maybe?

Would like yo know as well. I have LEDs put on dimmers which start flashing some times when another light is turned on. I can adjust the dimmer level and then the flash will go away. Is some special dimmer required for these LEDs or it's due to another reason? Thanks
Yeah you likely have a standard incandescent dimmer. It has a much higher voltage range than an LED or "multi" dimmer switch.
Will it still work? Yes, it'll probably work quite well and shouldn't be too hard on your LED fixtures (if good quality). It just gets a little wonky at the lower voltages.

In addition to normal wires (black, white and ground), these multi-volt fixtures also have 2 additional wires (grey and purple) which are 0-10v dimmer wires. The only way to dim these multi-volt fixtures is to connect these extra wires to special 0-10v dimmers that also have 2 extra wires (grey and purple). If you think about this it makes sense because the multi-volt fixtures work with multiple voltages and thus normal dimmers which dim by varying the voltage will not dim these fixtures (they will in fact make these lights flashed if voltage reduces to a certain level)
Attic is accessible from 2nd floor but how the 'new' wiring needs to be done is unclear. Could not find a good diy video on youtube. Also any specific tips on where to drill the saw holes. (near/far from stud etc)?
