Love the game, but I'd be hesitant to play any civ game on console without a keyboard. Maybe because I've been playing since the first one came out, it's just old habit. I don't like how the num pad diagonals no longer work for moving units, and somehow people can start wars against you without penalty, but the instant you start a war you get the mongering penalty.

$20 on Steam / Epic would be a good deal. They had it for free on Epic a few months ago

Note that 6 alone is gimped. You really need the expansions of Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm to be a solid game. And, now we have the New Frontier Pass expansion, although it doesn't change the game as much as the first two.

The problem with consoles is the base game is often discounted but the expansions are all still full price. You can buy the base game for $19 but the expansion bundle (R&F + GS) is $49 and New Frontier is $39.

Thanks. I dislike barebone incomplete games. I get dlc but whether its wielded correctly depends on developer. I think there are expectations to get an adequate, satisfactory experience for a base game before they can charge for dlc, which always need to be optional. For some developers, they give an inadequate product or shareware that leaves consumer unsatisfied and force dlc. As someone who values time, i can't be researching the developer to see if they are a good one or not as games are a part of my life.

You saved me $20.

Great game, and owned for PS4 version.
Yes you want the DLC also to enjoy more.
Need a little get used to time since controller instead of keyboard, but I really love this game.
The problem is, this is CIV games, plan to play only 1 hour, but ended up spend a couple hours even you have no intention, and ended up less sleep time, etc
