Reasonably good deal, but... The speaker is tiny and has terrible fidelity and volume, even compared to the original Dot. Don't buy these for music, or for use in an otherwise noisy environment (with showers, exhaust fans, sinks, motors running). I use one in my office where I have a hi-fi amp and computers with no need for a speakered Alexa device (the Echo Input would work, but they've been discontinued).

If you did want to use this to connect to a speaker system, it does have bluetooth and a 3.5mm jack.

WTH??? Echo Input is discontinued? FML

If anyone has a spare or no-longer-used unit I'd be interested in buying it. My home audio system is totally dependent on Echo Input and Chromecast Audio. I picked up a few spares when the Audio was discontinued but had no idea Inputs were discontinued. Ugh.

BTW - I am a fan of the Echo Flex for areas you just need to give Alexa commands but don't need audio content. The motion sensor you can pair with the Flex also makes for simple automations with Alexa. I'm a fan of them for the right use case.

FYI - These were $17.49 each last month so this deal is good but not unheard of.

Yeah, I feel the same way about the Input. I bought two more on eBay for ~$10 when I found out. The Flex will do the same job, and presumably has the same DAC as the Input, but in my experience the Flex doesn't hear as well.

I wish they would allow some devices to be input only. I have 12 echo dots across 3 floors and garage because all our switches are Kasa and I have several plugs to automate things (not lamps). The problem we were having is that we didn't feel like talking any louder than normal so we just added more echos. Worked fine but now when we say Alexa, at least 2 or 3 activate and we end up having to repeat ourselves at a lower level so the nearest one could repeat/play what we need.

If some of them would just be set as input so we could turn switches/devices on/off it would be great. No more us repeating or music playing on the wrong one. We could remove some but then we have to go back to speaking a little louder. Anyone have any tips ? We just use Alexa for on/off commands and some music (once in a while). We don't interact or question it.

Use a different wake up word..name some of your dot as amazon, computer instead of alexa. Or mute the microphone if not needed.

Yep. My sound bar is Alexa, and my echo show is Computer 👍.

This isn't a deal, I bought 4 of these a few weeks ago and the price was $17.49 with no discount. This is an inflated price with a fake deal to make normal price seem slick.
