Sticking a whole bunch of cheap ba's and sometimes an added dd inside an oversized shell (with some drivers shoved in the actual nozzle creating bloody awful treble peaks), may be good marketing, but it is hardly a guarantee of good sound. I own KZ's and a few others recommended on audio budget, and they sound better than jvc gummies but are trash compared to w40s. Westone was one of the first players in the iem game going back decades. Their ergonomics are flawless, and the sound is very nice smooth and coherent (what ba's sound like when the crossovers are done right). Just don't expect sparkly trebles with these or thumping bass. I listen to my w40's all the time when on the move, while my main cans are hd800s.
I'm sure there are well made chinese iem's that compete with these or better them, but those aren't the ones with 8 drivers for $59. Moondrop starfields are just a standard single dd driver in a pretty shell. Their FR curve is decent but nothing special in my view. If I were shopping in that category, I'd probably snag some ibasso it01's.

Still have a new spare in box! They were the right thing to buy back when they were $99.
On a separate note; have any of you triplefi users yet upgraded to Bluetooth? Makes mine get used a lot more often. $20 cable on amazon replaces the plug cables..
Looking forward to trying these. Just accidentally lost my Shure 215s in the ocean yesterday. I use them mostly for running with my Sony A45. Hoping that player with be enough to drive these or this is going to be an expensive accident.

That's not a mistype, that's a decimal point after the 7.
Assuming from the amazon deal?

The decimal should be BEFORE the 7 on those. Even then they'd still be overpriced by a dollar.
