Loving this. Unlimited repayability and I'm working on building easy training levels to teach my 4 year old how to play without having to deal with the frustration of the game being too difficult.
Walmart isn't any better tbh. Both pretty shitty.

Great game, lots of 2D Mario fun. Be aware that you need a Nintendo Switch Online membership to play levels from other people. That's where most of the fun is. Online multiplayer is also available, although it can be very laggy.

Without the membership, you can still do the story mode (100+ levels) and create your own levels to play.

Is there value in buying this game if I don't necessarily want to build levels?

Yes you can play every level created by every player in the world. There are 1000s of levels. Plenty of gameplay.

But you'll need Nintendo online membership to play those levels. There is one full game available for offline mode as well but for those created levels you need online membership

$40 is a steal for such a fun game. I paid $60 the second it hit the nintendo store and its still worth every penny.

Same price at Walmart if you don't feel like supporting Jeff Bezos' evil empire.

Have him play Super Mario Bros (the NES original)
That first level is THE iconic training level.
