What's the difference between these and the z/cloud, z/1 or other chacos?

EDIT: I talked to a customer service agent on Chacos.com and was advised:
Z/Boulder, this sandal is made to be sold with our retailers only. This item was made to meet a low price point while offering the same look as our Classic and Cloud sandal, with this we had to sacrifice the adjustable straps on this style. This item will offer the same use of hiking in and out of water, along with our Chaco Grip outsole for grip on mixed terrain.

That's a skip for me.

Oof if true, I agree fixed straps are a dealbreaker. However both the description ("Polyester jacquard webbing wraps around the foot and through the midsole for a fully-adjustable custom fit") and the review seem to indicate that the straps are adjustable. So that's confusing.

Yeah agreed. I asked the rep to confirm if any or all of it was adjustable and they confirmed it was "not adjustable at all."

When I compared the image again to a close up on z1s there's a larger black section where the buckle sits, rather than having the colorful strap go through the buckle, so I assume that's what they mean.

Review from chaco website

Literally the same fit!

Aug 01, 2019

I had a pair of Chacos that I had worn out over 2.5 summers of constant wear and was sending in for tread replacement. It's summer still and I couldn't bear to be without my go-to shoes so I ordered a second pair to get me through the replacement period. I love the adjustable straps and durability of Chacos. I literally took these sandals out of the box and I could adjust the straps to make them fit exactly like my original well loved sandals. Totally worth every cent!!
Interesting. Were these the z/boulders on this site or a different pair? Your comment suggests the review came from the chaco website. I doubt the rep lied to me, but maybe they made a mistake.

I did a web search again by highlighting the the item name but this time I realized it pulled up the classic not boulder for chaco website. Deleted my post but have already ordered a pair for my daughter so I hope they fit.

Sounds like a way to create separate markets for these. Certainly the profit margin on these is huge at retail price. I have a hard time believing they couldn't maintain the same standards at a lower price. With that said I own two pairs of chacos and expect to get many years out of them. Still not worth the $100 they commonly go for.

Talked to an agent on Journeys site to inquire about my order status and was told:
We were expecting a shipment for your order from the manufacturer, but the shipment never came. Since that's the case without an updated shipment date from the manufacturer, this order will most likely be canceled as what you ordered is out of stock from the manufacturer meaning we are no longer able to fulfill anymore orders for what you purchased. I truly apologize for any inconvenience this matter may cause. What I can do is either add another pair of sandals to this order by canceling out the sandals that is out of stock from the manufacturer, or we can cancel this order if you would rather do that instead.
