Seems like pretty good specs for the price. Not sure about upgrade potential.

The panel on this is terrible. Around 60% srgb coverage. No thanks.

*edit more like 55% color coverage. Meaning washed out color production.

I would t use this for anything involving color work like production or photo editing.

Is it fairly safe to assume most Walmart "deals" are compromised in some way? That you'd have to accept something not in your own best interest (e.g., shite screen).

I'm trying to cut back on time wasted. There are too many laptop deals that aren't. The time used to surface that is cutting into my savings.

Ugh why did they waste such a great CPU is such a low end box of mediocre screen, bad memory, etc...

Honestly this is not a great price for what you get IMO. Its not awful but just lacking.

Soldered ram

Lenovo should just change their name to "the soldered ram company". It will tell more about their best feature /s

These soldered ram computers should be bulldozed under and sent to landfill like so too many atari cartridges.

The HP Omen deals were good. I actually love my Omen (chunky, but blazing fast and a very nice screen)

No matter where you buy this, if it has the 250nit screen it's the same shitty panel.

Still waiting for a 15.6" form factor laptop with 4700u, 512+ GB, and 16 GB RAM or 8GB with option to upgrade to 16. These seem hard to come by.

Why are washed out screens like that even produced? Is it that much more expensive to make a halfway decent one?

The Dell Inspiron 5000 is out of stock now but is upgradable to this. Customer service reported to me that that'll be back in stock the first week of October. Hopefully their sale doesn't end before then. I came across this lappy looking for an in stock alternative to that. My requirements are:

USB-C with power delivery
Tolerable 1080p display (subjective)
Ryzen 7 4700U
Upgradable to 1 TB+ SSD
Upgradable to 16GB+ RAM
Fingerprint reader
$600 Range

I was hoping that this would have an open second slot for RAM because then depending on the screen this tics all the boxes, but it looks like it's probably all soldered.
