FOR THE WARRANTY, ADD YOUR RECEIPT TO YOUR LOWE'S ACCOUNT AND KEEP EVERYTHING IT CAME WITH!!! (Including the bag and whatever else is inside the bag...)

The warranty on this is great, it's a 5-year warranty (for the tool, 3-year for the battery). If you don't add it to your MyLowes account (or save the receipt), they're not obligated to fulfill the warranty.

I got lucky last fall. The bit-less chuck went out in mine and the bits were almost IMPOSSIBLE to remove after doing the most basic jobs with it. I went to my local Lowe's and they saw that the date code was less than five years old, however it still needed a manager's approval and override. Even with the approval and override, I had to go back home to get everything it came with.

Regardless, I was jumping for joy that they warrantied it for me and promptly added the receipt to my account.

As a side note, when she took in the defective drill she gave me store credit (merchandise card maybe??), so I'm curious as to whether or not they would warranty my new one if it died. It looks like a normal store purchase on MyLowe's with no reference to the warranty exchange, so I'm guessing it has a brand new 5-year/3-year warranty.

I just bought this 24v Kobalt drill a week ago ( https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-2...1000061633 ) for $100.

As someone who just needs a decent drill for the house, should I return it and get this combo?

I'm trying to read up on the differences between what I have vs an impact drill vs a hammer drill.

650 in lbs won't even remove a lug nut. Would be ok for smaller jobs.

Sorry I misread the torque on the drill vs. the impact.

Yes in a heartbeat, for $15 more the current deal includes a bigger battery, better drill, and an impact driver.

Appreciate it. I know my question may have been a dumb question, but I don't know jack about drills

where did you find this code? Does this type of code work in store [perhaps at customer service counter]?

This is a impact driver. It will do some automotive bolts but you want a impact wrench

I have never, in a dozen drills, had one I think would remove lug nuts. But I do respect this new higher standard for the expectation of what a drill can do.

I get there is also an impact driver here, to be clear an impact driver is NOT an impact wrench, as badly as every Harry Homeowner wants them to be.

Eh, torque of 650 in-lbs for the drill and 1800 in-lbs for the driver really isn't a lot compared to many of the 18/20v options out there.

Voltage by itself isn't much of an indicator of power, it is the volts times the amperage that really matters.
That is also good when considering the value of the Kobalt batteries. 24v 4Ah battery will be roughly the same size as a 18v 5Ah. So the Kobalt batteries are a better value.

I came to ask the exact same things so thanks and repped to you both. One more question it is easy to return things to lowes?
