Spoken with the true sarcasm of someone who doesn't understand water resistance ratings. But hey I'll bite.

Water resistance ratings are indicative of the amount of water pressure that watch should withstand safely. While I don't know a single person who has been close to 200m underwater, I'm sure you know people who would swim with their watch on. Everytime your arm swings and hits the water, there is a considerable amount of water pressure exerted on the watch. Same phenomenon as doing a belly flop. You sure won't go deep in the water with a belly flop but your red belly sure shows a good amount of pressure that's been exerted.

Water pressure aside, water resistance ratings can tell you a lot about how well built a watch is in general. Fit and finish, shock resistance, durability, and longevity will all be considerably better in a G shock than this. Price is another story but we're speaking about the watch.

But hey we live in a world where desk jockeys clacking on keyboards buy Rolex submariners and complain when it gets a scuff on the bracelet. I digress
This is not comparable to a g shock. All g shocks are rated to at least 200m water resistance and are also shock resistant. This timex just has the looks, but none of the rugged capabilities
Why do people even own phones when they can just yell really, really, really loud? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sarcasm aside, I work in a field where I touch things I don't want on my phone, so I can glance at my wrist without getting my dirty gloves all over my phone. I generally prefer analog for looks, but I just started wearing a chronograph so I can time things that need to run for a specific amount of time. Definitely easier to tilt my wrist than pull my phone out and unlock it all the time.

Looks extremely similar to G-Shock watches, any major differences, or anything this has that G-Shock doesn't?

Dang, better get this one for the next time I'm 200m underwater. Haven't been more than 10 ft or so, but some people might say I'm overdue for a good scuba.

I agree with all of this, except that the dynamic pressure of swimming or diving or whatever is considerably higher due to your arm moving, it isn't.

Are you saying all watches matter?

And why is this listed as a "Marathon" watch. It appears to be a DGTL (chunktastic) model.
