I've been thinking about getting this. Pretty good specs for a Ryzen 4700u laptop. Cons are no USB-C charging or video output tho.

Yes there is, but if it had USB-C video out, you can hook up 2 monitors.

Doesn't staples have this in a Lenovo ideapad 5, And a smaller ssd for $580? Maybe that sale ended?

It does, it has USB-C 3.2 which will support Alt Mode video output using a direct USB-C to HDMI adapter or through a multiport hub, though the latter will cause refresh rate to take a hit as other peripherals need to share the data lanes.

No it doesn't. Asus seldom has usb c charging or displayport on any of their products. And if they did they would advertise it. Just because it is usb c 3.2 10gbps mean it has usb c display port.
