Amazon [amazon.com] is offering free $30 credit when you try in-garage delivery (free for Prime members) and use code KEY30 at checkout

What is Key by Amazon In-Garage Delivery?
Key by Amazon In-Garage Delivery is a secure, convenient way to receive Amazon packages inside your garage. It helps prevent package theft and provides protection from potentially damaging weather like heat and rain. Key by Amazon is also contactless, because there's no interaction between you and the delivery associate, or contact between the associate and the garage door.
Key In-Garage Delivery requires a compatible Smart Garage Hub or Wifi Garage Door Opener to enable authorized delivery associates to leave Amazon packages inside your garage.

Customer must place their Key In-Garage Delivery order using the Key by Amazon service by January 14th, 2021 at 11:59 pm PST to qualify for the promotional credit. To receive the $30 Amazon credit you must (1) be a Prime member with a compatible myQ Smart Garage; (2) set up In-Garage Delivery by linking your myQ with the Key by Amazon App, (3) place your first qualifying Amazon.com order with In-Garage Delivery, (4) never have previously placed a Key by Amazon order and (5) include promo code KEY30 when making such first qualifying order. The $30 Amazon Credit will be applied to your next Key In-Garage Delivery order that occurs at least 24 hours after your first qualifying order using the applicable promo code. Offer available only to Amazon Prime members with a compatible myQ Smart Garage in select areas. You can check your area eligibility here: https://www.amazon.com/keyforgarage.

How do I set up Key by Amazon In-Garage Delivery?
Follow these easy steps to set up Key by Amazon In-Garage Delivery:
Check your eligibility above and, if necessary, purchase a myQ Smart Garage Hub.
Use the myQ app to install your Smart Garage Hub or WiFi Garage Door Opener.
After Device Setup, follow the prompts in the myQ app to enable Key delivery with your Amazon Prime credentials, or download the Key by Amazon App to enable Key.
Choose Key Delivery at checkout when shopping on Amazon.com or the Amazon App. To receive Key Delivery notifications and control your garage door access for delivery, make sure to download the Key by Amazon App and login with your Amazon credentials.

NOTE: One key factor is this must be your first Key Delivery. It is in the terms, but not in the Title of the thread as it should be.

The item must be sold by and shipped by amazon

Our condo building has this service, it's been solid overall. Amazon driver is able to call into our entryway buzzer system to be let into the package area automatically (one time only, as coordinated by Amazon).

But we've had some issues:
1. Some drives don't know what it is so they just continue to leave packages in our open vestibule.
2. Amazon has started using USPS and UPS more often for some delivers so for those packages, this does nothing.

EDIT* In case it's not clear: this is helpful because if you have an area that's locked, Amazon Key will allow their delivery people into the locked area to leave packages. Amazon can keep track of who was given access to such areas in case there is a problem. It's not 100% perfect but it does prevent issues of delivery of packages to open/unlocked areas (where anyone can walk up and steal them) and also, you don't have some random person claiming to be a Amazon delivery person to be let into the building and you buzz them in so they can then steal packages from the locked area. Obviously it's not perfect, but it does add some security.

Also, I should note that the delivery people who do mess up the delivery, our building can report them to our Amazon Key rep. If the Amazon rep is able to verify the mistakes (which they were, bc the delivery person did not request the Key access); those individuals will go through the training again and will also receive a negative performance something-or-another.

I don't get it, how is this a safer solution to package theft? You give authorization for someone you do not know to open and enter your garage, this is safe? I don't know about everyone else but it may take me a few days/weeks to notice if anything was taken from my garage. I think the risk of loss is a higher cost than the delivered package going missing. Maybe Amazon should just require a signature. Just my 2¢.

Same, I just saw this appear in our apartment's entrance. However, the drivers don't know what it is and they don't use it. They continue to simply leave the packages in front of the locked door area. -shrugs-

I have been using it for nearly 6 months now and it's super reliable. You are not giving access to anyone but just amazon driver. They are very trustworthy and if anything then you can install a $20 camera inside your garage.

I've had this service since March and never had any problems. I got an arlo in my garage so I see the person delivering my packages and never had any suspicion. It's super convenient and reliable especially if I'm out of town and want something delivered.

Haven't seen a garage yet that only has cars in it, though that is a nice goal to have

In this case, the risk ≠ reward. Pass.

For my area it would probably be great. I had to turn off my ring notifications because I was getting flooded with "my package was stolen" alerts. Maybe it is because I live next to a upper class area and the package thieves are targeting that area because they are getting higher dollar items delivered.

For one thing, it's an employee of a large company, not some rando. As someone said, if you're worried, use a camera.
Then stop hoarding so much crap. You're not using your garage correctly. They are for storing vehicles and Amazon packages and for use as gyms, recording studios or workshops.

This is the first gatekeeping comment on a garage I've ever seen lol. Who judges garage usage? Yeesh.

I signed up 4 months ago but Amazon driver is not able to open my garage door. She says it keeps spinning. I also tried to delete and setup again.

Anyone else having issues?
