Not full bandwidth, so not 4k120.

Has other HDMI 2.1 features, VRR, eARC, and supports 1440p120 and 1080p120. Most next gen console games that look good probably won't do 4k120, so IMHO it only matters if you will get a high end PC

Amazing that this just released TV is this cheap already
For those saying they did not believe or didn't see the 75" on sale, i was on the page when it was live but hesitated on checking out. Here's proof that it was $956.75. My goodness it seemed like a super slick price...
That's why you get BB to price match before the Walmart deal sours or sells out.

Honestly this is the price this TV (65r635) should be, It's not any better than the Vizio M65Q8 ($748).
In fact it's much worse in many areas, viewing angle, black crush, and blooming.

I bought the M65Q8-H1 on release day and was kinda of pissed when this come out a week later, but after reading the reviews and some YouTube videos I'm happy I stuck with the Vizio.

because of price rtings compair's the Vizio to the H8G and the Samsung TU-8000 or the Sony 750H
and it's clearly much better than all those and loaded with features at this price range.

In fact to get the features of this R635 or a M65Q8 you need to go up to around $1400 for a Sony 900h or Samsung q80t

Me too man! Thanks to your tip, I went back and checked the 75" and just got it. I rushed so much, I used the wrong credit card but oh well.. I didn't add the warranty, I think you can add after purchase? I just checked out as fast as possible.

I don't have either TV yet, so I don't know first-hand, but the areas you talked about are contradicted by Rtings. Viewing angle (Rtings has the TCL better), Black Crush (Rtings noticed none on either), Blooming (Rtings says noticeable blooming on both, but local dimming feature better on TCL). Rtings rates the TCL better in almost every way. The main issue with the TCL is the firmware update issue that messes up the motion handing... which didn't happen in Rtings' review.

I am returning the Vizio M65Q7 (same as Q8 but less dimming zones) for the 65R635 I just bought to replace it. I have seen both in my house and the TCL is much better. Like it surprised me how much. Screen uniformity, up scaling, black levels, motion, are clearly better in the 635.

Well I have seen videos of the R635 and the Black crush is very real

and the main cons for the it are
Quote :
Cons

Mediocre full-array local dimming feature.
Narrow viewing angles.
Uniformity issues.
So I would say everything I said was true.

Vizio
7.7 Mixed Usage
7.8 Movies
7.3 TV Shows
7.2 Sports
8.2 Video Games
7.7 HDR Movies
8.2 HDR Gaming
7.6 PC Monitor

TCL
7.9 Mixed Usage
8.0 Movies
7.7 TV Shows
7.7 Sports
8.3 Video Games
8.0 HDR Movies
8.2 HDR Gaming
7.5 PC Monitor

With those scores the TV's are equal if you figure in a margin of error of .2 (Panel Lottery)
I have seen other reviews of the Vizio MQ8 that did much worse than my TV, so it's luck of the draw here

What I'm saying is that you said the TCL was much worse in those areas, when in fact, the Vizio has narrower viewing angles, the Vizio has a lesser local dimming feature, and the Vizio also has uniformity issues. I will agree that it can be panel lottery for minor discrepancies, but .4 and .5 differences for TV Shows and Sports are not minor. The Vizio also has a sub-par upscaling processor... as they always have.

Was able to Price Match the 65" to Best Buy...free shipping that way to home. took about 3-4 extra days to get to me, but worth it, IMO + best buy points.
Did same over chat and the link to page! Saved $100!

The rtings review and the actual usage videos are much different. You have to decide for yourself if you can live with the downsides of the TCL.

My main point was that the TCL is now at the correct price as compared to the Vizio M8 Peace
