Has other HDMI 2.1 features, VRR, eARC, and supports 1440p120 and 1080p120. Most next gen console games that look good probably won't do 4k120, so IMHO it only matters if you will get a high end PC
Amazing that this just released TV is this cheap already
For those saying they did not believe or didn't see the 75" on sale, i was on the page when it was live but hesitated on checking out. Here's proof that it was $956.75. My goodness it seemed like a super slick price...
For what it's worth, I have the 55R635 and the viewing angle is so terrible that sitting dead perfect center of the set the edges (and I mean like 50% of the screen that's not the center) exhibit off-angle washout that nullifies the contrast advantage over IPS for this particular series. If it wasn't for the input lag being so low on this set I would return it, (I only use for gaming) as even 15 feet away dead center there is no angle which you see the entire image "on angle." I don't think I've seen a TV with poorer viewing angles in memory than this series.
wow, weird, wondering if you got a dud. As my same set has as good viewing angles as my Sammy (as in, ok/average for VA), and non of the degradation you describe (50% from center). I'd think some of the review sites would have picked up that if this was common on this model.
I have the TCL 8-Series 825 and it smokes my old Hisense H9F. Hisense refunded my money on that piece of trash.
how so (specifically, what makes it better)...as most online review sites put the H9F above the 8 series...and these are two TV's I am also considering (for my main set).

While you're all here.....sounds like this is the type of 65" I should aim for on Black Friday if I do no gaming whatsoever? The lack of HDMI2.1 means nothing to me.
Love the idea of an amazing refresh rate for sports and great color for movies, but not paying for crazy gaming specs.
TLC 6 series is where it's at for me?
For 'general use' (movies, sports, cable, etc.) it is a good tv for the price. And, even without the HDMI 2.1, it happens to be a decent tv for gaming too (get you don't need that, but...).
So if your in the price point of this tv, probably a decent choice.
Buyer beware these TCL roku TVs they messed up the software update and now you can't turn off motion smoothing. Tv looks like crap now and it's been over 3 months and they haven't fixed it.
Has this TV even been out for 3 months+? Thought I bought mine shortly after it was released (got it last month). Either way, if this is truly an issue (haven't really noticed on mine), and it's a newly released TV, I gotta believe there will be a FW update coming that will fix the issue.

I have 3 TCLs and no problem with turning it off. Software version 9.3.0 Build 4194-30.
It took me like 10 different chats but eventually I was able to get someone who when I told them to make an exception for me said yes!!! Awesome deal 956 for 75 inches

Great deal on the 65 inch still. Thanks OP I pulled trigger on it.
Center DSE is not any issue since no one ever looks at the center when watching TV. And it only happens during sports. Just watch news..perfect
Per Rtings.
Decent gray uniformity. The edges of the screen are slightly darker and there's some dirty screen effect in the center, which may be distracting during sports. The uniformity is a bit better in near-dark scenes, but there's backlight bleed along the edges.
The old 6 series was awful with DSE, but haven't the reviews on the new version been great? I think Digital Trends said their screen had zero DSE.
Per Rtings reviews. Good luck with panel lottery which is the best TV game in the world.

I just received my 75R635 today. I am super disappointed with the backlight. There are 4 giant flashlights on the screen and they are even visible in normal content with dark scenes or moderate scenes. Unreal. Havent had flashlighting like this since my 2006 budget TV with edge lighting. I honestly don't know how its possible to be so bad
With local dimming set to high, on test patterns of course you dont see the flashlighting until the test white box goes near those hotspot areas and then they are brighter than other test areas. For $1400 theres no way I can keep this TV. So annoyed because swapping out 75" wall-mounted TVs is a major headache. If I had the flashlighting in the corners in the RTINGS review I would be thrilled compared to what I got…
The bottom line per Rtings and supported by the forums. Fantastic tv except for uniformity issues which is not a big deal at all as long as you dont care. 2020 and they still cannot get the manufacturing process to get rid of uniformity. Engineers paid to get a TV out quick but not paid to deliver a TV without DSE.
Rtings.
The TCL 6 Series 2020 offers good performance for its price and most people should enjoy this TV. However, it's not nearly as good as its main competitor, the Hisense H9G, as it has too many uniformity issues and the local dimming feature doesn't perform as well as some other upper-mid range TVs in 2020. Also see our recommendations for the best budget TVs, the best TCL TVs, and the best 4k TVs.
Its a super bargain...but if you put the Sony 900 next to it, you wish you had the Sony. 42 inches of uniformity issues is not as bad as 75 inches of uniformity.
Yeap...great price. But nope...I dont like center DSE issues. Try watching hockey with DSE...you just scream.
Just FYI...tv prices are dropping like crazy. I can wait until the microled TV come out and this DSE BS will be gone. Who is suppose to be the first TV manufacturer with microled....TCL.

Anyone get Amazon to pm? My 4 yr old Vizio M75 I paid $2000 for crapped out on me 2 weeks ago so been without a bedroom tv. It's so close to BF but I also know most sets that be really discounted are the crappy low end ones with 2 hdmi ports.

It makes me happy that you got it 👍. Idk why but it does

I have a 65r635 and 75" x900h. Both have very good screen uniformity. The TCL being every bit as good with DSE. I know its just one data point but I'm very happy with the panel. It's way better than the 625 it replaced.
Best buy price matched via phone for delivery. Free delivery through them but was delayed till 10/3 for me, but Walmart's delivery was within a few days difference. This was for the 65".
