PSPrices shows the PS Plus price ($33.99) as the lowest price ever for this edition. The base version is also discounted at its lowest ever digital price ($26.39).

How does this game compare to other popular single player open world games? How is it similar to or different from, for example, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Horizon: Zero Dawn (etc.)?

What is the quality and quantity of extras included in the Ultimate edition vs the base game?

I'm most likely not interested in the multiplayer.

Also interesting to note: this game is very likely to get a PS5 upgrade at some point.

I hear great things about the graphics of the open world setting. But also heard some negative comments on the pace of the game. Am a big fan of Horizon: Zero Dawn.
So, just wanted to see this game myself and judge, was waiting on good deal on Ultimate edition and found it in PS Store today.

Others who already played this, please chime in and share your experiences about the game itself and the additional stuff we get with Ultimate edition.

I loved it. Mechanics are very methodical, which many people used to GTA and CoD might find as 'slow' and boring? I loved the original, loved Horizon: Zero Dawn and loved this game. Online is a grind fest that unless you have a posse of real or online friends that may or may not be worth it for you, but knowing the first game's story arc and playing this game, it was great. My two cents.

Thanks! How are the additional weapons they give with Ultimate Edition?

Can speak to the actual game, not the perks of Ultimate -

I enjoy fast paced games that I can pick up for 20 minutes (GTA, Call of Duty, etc.) and I've realized I play mostly offline. Was never a fan of large RPGs such as Skyrim.

This game, while slow in the beginning, has ultimately become one of my absolute favorite games and set a bar for one of the best stories (alongside Last of Us). Seriously. Get this game for a great 40+ hours of gameplay.

I'm on the fence about the extra $7.

On the one hand... this is a great price and as someone who hasn't bought in yet, I'm definitely tempted. On the other hand, I don't wanna play at 30FPS, I have GamePass and while its gone for now it may well come back.

If it were for sure getting a *FREE* PS5 update I'd buy it in a heartbeat. As is however I'm on the fence.

Great price on what is quite honestly the greatest single-player game I've ever experienced. If you like The Last of Us 1 & 2, Uncharted 4, Horizon: Zero Dawn or the original Red Dead Redemption, then just buy this now.

Sony said 99% of PS4 games can be played on PS5. And this is one of the most famous games. So, I am guessing we can play this on PS5 along with all major Ps4 digital games.
