I used this just the other day to drain and fill two cooling systems. It worked great. Makes it clean and easy. I wish I would have bought it years ago.

I have to pull a vacuum on my 99 Silverado every year before winter to get the air out of my heater core.
With over 300k, I guess it tends to leak a little.

Hopefully this will help with that task.

I have these and they are really great. This helps remove air out of your cooling system since the large funnel will be the highest point in the system. This also prevents spills which is important if you have children or pets around.

I just did a water pump. This device will not save you any time. It's either full or its not, it doesn't magically go in slowly. You have to burp the pipes and run it anyway for bleed valve. You can't use it while the engine is hot, assuming you're flushing with distilled. It's for people who dont wanna look down a hole while they're pouring.

This is what I was thinking. But I'm not a mechanic. I just do what I had to do to keep my cars running. I was looking at this to see if it would help me and I just don't see how it would.

I've got this exact kit and it's fairly handy. It has different bits to fit different types/sizes of radiator caps that screw on and then the funnel fits tightly into it so the funnel is pretty secure on it's own leaving you with two hands for everything else you are doing. It also has the stopper which you can put in to seal it so you can remove the funnel and then drain anything left in the funnel into someplace else instead of it spilling over your car when the radiator is full. It also has an extension and elbows in case your radiator cap is someplace awkward. For the relatively low cost it's a very handy thing to have if you are doing any radiator work.

I have done two radiator drain refill's on a Honda, you don't need this tool.

I have one of these and I can attest that this thing is awesome. It allows you to keep the job clean and is great for the air burping process. No more wondering if you got all the air out because once you do, the funnel will stop bubbling. It's so simple. Wish I had one of these years ago.

I've maintained my vehicles for at least 25 years, have had this exact unit for about 4 years now, and it definitely makes flushing the coolant faster and cleaner. Sure, you still have to do the work and burp the system, but it simplifies it by allowing you to fill the funnel and not have to use both hands to pour from a jug as the liquid is consumed by the system (also allows you sit in the cabin and accelerate/raise the engine temperature from the driver's seat). Sure, it's not 100% essential, but makes doing the job easier and more pleasant, just as a decent set of brake caliper hangers are better to work with than flimsy DIY coat hanger hooks.
