Is Zavvi a reputable seller? The site appears a bit sketchy to me. If anyone has real world direct experience they can share I would appreciate it. TIA

Yes. Zavvi is reputable. They often have good deals on Legos.

I've ordered several big legos from them without issues.
Why do people still ask about Zavvi? There is at least 3 or more deals from them a week now. Yes, they are reputable. Yes, you'll get it fast. Yes, they are a legit seller.

Well, it is (or at least used to be) unclear that you are buying from an International seller that is selling European-market products, which have a slightly different box, and also sometimes different release schedules. However most people report a good experience.
It's unclear to me why they are the only "reputable" seller offering large Lego sets at a discount. (the "usual" 20% for Mass-market sets at Target, Walmart, Amazon, doesn't usually apply to large sets like the Technic or larger Architecture series). I have a theory that they are able to work off of the exchange rate difference and currently USD-EUR rate is pretty good; also the supply chain in Europe was not as disrupted as the US supply which had significant interruptions earlier this year.
But note you will not get exactly the same box as you'd get here, and even the components inside might come from different factories (Lego assembles sets from a number of factories, so that even one large set may have components from 5 or more different places). However all seem to report that the products are "authentic" and I have not heard of any counterfeit from zaavi. (unlike unknown 3rd-party sellers where that is a risk.)
Zavvi is legitimate, just be aware that you're ordering from a European seller, which can make returns and such obnoxious if that becomes necessary. Aside that, I've ordered from Zavvi many times (not for Legos) and had zero issues with orders arriving or being legitimate items.

They are legit, but I would not bother. If you have any issues with your order, you will have to dispute it with your CC, because they do not care.

On Facebook there's ads from these third party sellers that offer deep lego discounts that are scams.
I love lego but... I just don't see how they can charge 180 for this. Maybe someone can explain it to me. Is it the licensing? Cause it seems like straight up robbery.

They are made with very high quality material, and they keep their value for decades. I am 35, and I just picked up a big box of Legos from my grandparents' house from when I was a kid. They are for my son but also for me. They are in almost perfect condition except for some of the paint designs.

Yeah, that's not what I'm talking about. Lego Architecture has an insanely high markup compared to Lego's other lines. I was asking specifically why lego architecture was so expensive.
