In store Special Buy (~$360 savings) stacks with Appliance Discount ($500 savings)
  • Bosch 800 Series B36CL80ENS (Pocket style handles) Refrigerator / Freezer is on sale in-store only as Special Buy for $3,058
  • Bosch B36CL80SNS (standard handles) on sale for $2,932
BOTH fridges stack with the current promo of $500 off appliances over $2,499.

I called one Lowe's and verified that discounts stacked, went to another and purchased. I was not able to stack it with the 5% Lowe's card discount. Free delivery too, and $30 to haul away the other dumpster fire.

Also found that service plan was a decent deal - if you replace filters at $40 a pop every 6 months, the plan reimburses 50% of that or $200 worth over 5 years, and if you don't use the plan for service, you get 30% of the plan cost back at the end of 5 years or $88 for this fridge (30% of $294)

Best available price before this that I found was Home Depot had a sale for $2,958 - this beats it by $400.

what do they mean by counter depth, does that reduce the overall volume than a non-counter depth fridge? Seems like a low-ish cu ft at 21in.

Yes, if the width is the same.

Counter-depth refrigerators will not stick out far in front of your kitchen counters, in the event your refrigerator sits next to your counters and not in its own housing or somewhere else in the kitchen. People tend to like the aesthetic, but yes they do come with two primary downsides: They tend to be more expensive because they fit the mechanical components into a smaller space, and they have less maximum cubic footage. So yeah, aesthetics vs. function, though 21 cu ft is also plenty for many people.

Just a heads up from a Bosch fridge owner: Be sure to measure the height of your fridge area if you have a casing for your fridge, or cabinets above the area.

Most fridges are a maximum of around 70-71 inches, but this one -- like most Bosch -- is over 71. We had to remove the cabinets above our fridge area because they created exactly 71.25 inches of clearance... enough for basically any fridge but Bosch.

I still think it was worth it, as this fridge is great and seems to be universally agreed to be high quality and reliable versus the rest of the field.

Thanks for all the information, well put. I have the room for a non counter-depth so I think I will go for that on the next deal that looks good.

Anybody interested might want to look to see if you have a bestbuy outlet nearby. I had one 1.5 hours away and picked up a similar model last year for about $1000. Maybe $1200 all in, taxes, delivery, warranty. They had a lot of them. I dont think it's a brand that most customers look for. Even I had to convince my wife about it.

unimpressive reviews on amazon! I have had a Bosch dishwasher for the past 6 years and I love it so the 1 or 2 star ratings for the fridge is surprising.

Amazon doesn't sell appliances. They have some appliances from 3rd party vendors, but because Amazon themselves don't sell appliances they get few reviews, and it tends to just be the bitter 0.01% that got a lemon and went to every outlet to complain. Best Buy/HD/Lowes reviews are at least somewhat more representative.

I have lots of Bosch tools so I tried a dishwasher...that was a mistake.

No way would I drop thousands on a Bosch refrigerator
Our Bosch dishwasher (which cost $1k) was the best purchase in our kitchen remodel. Assuming you got a lemon because I have several friends who love their Bosch dishwasher, which led to us buying one.

I found this article entertaining the last time I had to clear my Bosch dishwasher with a wet dry vac.

Yes it does. We just got a counter depth because I hated the way our old once stuck into the room. My wife hates it, claiming it doesn't hold enough.

I'm only seeing 3 reviews. LINK [amazon.com]
1 - 5 star glowing
2 - 1 star - loved it but it died 1 day out of 1 year warranty
3 - 1 star - this gem (easily dismissed IMO)

I bought this refrigerator almost 2 months ago from RC Willey and have had nothing but problems. There is a grinding noise coming from the lower left side. Also an alarm goes off every two to four hours that can only be temporarily canceled and the water dispenser constantly leaks. Bosch has no parts available and will not exchange or refund my purchase. Three thousand dollar lemon sure is bitter.
1 year warranty really sucks but reviews across the other sites are good.

Counter depth are popular for galley kitchens. They are more expensive.

I have the counter depth Samsung 4 door refrigerator. Our previous standard depth looks silly in our narrow galley kitchen.

In other words, if you have the space, don't get a counter depth,
