you don't want to put tea in your kettle it leaves a tea taste for ever if you want hot water for everything else also a metal ketal is better it gets the water hoter

Just boil some vinegar in it afterwards to get some stains/smells out.

Do you need the water hotter than boiling? I use this unit daily and it works fine to get boiling water.
