Use Chase Credit Card 5% Cash Back Offer on up to $1,500 in combined purchases when using PayPayl from 10/1/2020 – 12/31/2020.

If ordering "Renewal / Existing SIM," use an address from a tax free state to skip taxes on eBay

Clarifying Details from Red Pocket customer support rep CS Karl on 12-Oct.
  • Hotspot Tethering on CDMA: "We do apologize please be advise that we only support hotspot /tethering on our CDMA network for IOS devices." (implying android does not support tethering on the CDMA)
  • Upgrading your old plan to this one: "You need to upgrade it on the expiration date of the each of the plan, because if you will upgrade it today it will apply right away and remaining days for the current plans will be gone or forfeited"
  • How long do we have to activate this plan/SIM? "Please be advise that activations for the annual plan has a Expiration date of 90 days" (implying that if your renewal date is more than 90 days away from your purchase date, you may want to wait for the next sale)
  • Does our old 5GB plan have 7GB now or still 5GB? "Although the 5gb plan I purchased Black Friday 2019 now shows as a 7gb plan on the "My Lines" summary page, the actual remaining capacity is only 5gb per month when they calculate it." Karl indicated " it will become 7GB on the renewal date" --ChronoTriggered: "My 5GB now shows I have 7GB per month with 6GB remaining, so I believe it was upgraded."
  • Is this truly Unlimited Data? "Unlimited" data does not imply unlimited high speed LTE data. After burning through your 7GB of limited high speed data the plan speeds slow.

FYI: My 360-Day 5GB CDMA plan that I've had since 12/2019 was upgraded automatically to the 7GB plan. I can confirm that I now have 7GB of data per month as my remaining data at the moment is 6GB with 25 days left of my month. My yearly plan is set to expire in November, so I purchased this as a renewal/existing SIM.
If you care about sending messages with your phone service, avoid Red Pocket at all cost. It is well-documented in previous posts and in our experience that RP will shut down your text messaging without warning because they claim it is being overused. They refer you to their terms of service, which they claim gives them the right to do so at any time they want for any reason they want. They won't tell you how many is too many, but from anecdotal evidence, it is somewhere in the range of more than 8 messages in a minute, which is easy to do in group messaging. Their unlimited messaging is not unlimited! Avoid RP at all cost if you care at all about messaging.
"Online Product Purchases are ineligible for refunds after thirty (30) calendar days from the order date. Online Product Purchases bundled with a service plan must be activated within ninety (90) calendar days of the order date. Any Online Product Purchases that are not activated by customer within ninety (90) calendar days of the order date may be rendered inactive and the bundled service plan expired."

So you have 30 days to get a refund and 90 days to activate.

Thank you. I messaged them on eBay. Hopefully it goes back down. Could be because they are almost sold out, but I'll post their response here.

Edit: "Hello, The plan is still on a special sale at $209.99 from the regular $240." Now that I think about it, $17.50 x 12 months = $210. So $200 was likely a price mistake. Also, for reference, it was $195 ($16.25/month) for the 5GB last year on Black Friday, though that price is not guaranteed to return.

Same. I'm in the middle of my 360-day 5GB plan and logged in the other day to see it was marked as 7GB. Bought a 5GB plan for my wife a couple of months ago, and hers also shows 7GB.

I thought you had 90. My parents' plans are up in early December, too, so thinking about getting this now for them.

You have 90 days to activate so you'll be fine. Can you activate now and add onto your previous plan? Or will it erase you remaining Oct-Dec months? If I remember correctly from previous threads, there were conflicting reports regarding this issue. I messaged Red Pocket again, will post their response here.

How long do we have to activate it? My renewal is in May.

Edit: nevermind, I see it's 90 days to activate

If you're applying the credit to the same plan you have now, it will in theory just tack onto the end. But if it doesn't work, I've been told by multiple RP CSRs that you're just SOL. They recommend waiting until your renewal date to apply the code.

In terms of cellular service, RP is totally fine for the majority of folks. If you have any trouble whatsoever, though, their customer service leaves something to be desired. I wouldn't risk it.
