Good deal but the 10TB (Plus not Pro though) is significantly cheaper (also a Prime deal posted elsewhere) so unless you need that extra 2TB or 7200 vs 5400...

This is $5 cheaper and 2TB more. Figured this a better choice if you were looking at the 10TB Red Pro.

Not sure. There was a time when the portables had WD Red drives in them. You could just "shuck" them and get a cheaper Red drive with a little modification. Then they switched to a "white" label version of the Red drives. But now, I'm not sure what's in them, so I couldn't tell you spec wise why they're different.

But "shucking" a drive usually voids the warranty, and that's important to me. I run these in file servers and have had more than one fail within the warranty period and had to send them in.
