I was looking for a cheap unlocked Android phone and came across these deals from Best Buy for the newest line of Moto G phones. Apparently these are "guaranteed Black Friday prices". These are also the cheapest I've seen these phones by about $20-$50 a piece.
All listed prices are for "activate later" (unlocked) models. This allows you to throw your SIM Card in and be good to go. If you need service as well, the prices are even less with new activation ($100 for Moto G Fast, $150 for Moto G Power & $190 for Moto G Stylus)
Available for in store pickup or free next day shipping as stock permits.
Model: Motorola - Moto G Power Cell Phone with 64GB Memory (Unlocked) - Smoke Black

Do they still lock the bootloader? Their updates are so slow (if any) that I have pretty much stopped looking at Moto phones. Which is a pity because at one point when Google owned them, they had some exciting phones

199.99 to activate later or 149.99 to activate now. My carrier wants 40.00 to activate. I can buy a phone and throw in my sim card like always without activation fees. I'll pass. Good price but not paying activation fees.
Not sure if these are impacted, but Moto has lots of phone models with batteries draining way too much, not holding a charge, etc. Also, their updates on phones owned by our extended family are pretty much non-existent. We've been a Moto family for decades, but not any more. HTH!

not from what i read on xda, but it doesn't seem like a very straight forward process, like back in old days. root, i mean. bl unlocking is easy. so i'm waiting hopefully by the time my warranty expires one click root will be available.
Will the unlocked have the ability for wifi calling on Verizon prepaid?
No, unless you buy the phone from Verizon.
There are several online guides by Verizon for enabling WiFi Calling on their handsets. Google 'Verizon WiFi Calling Moto G6'
However, if you bought an unlocked phone from a third party and not directly from Verizon, WiFi Calling can't be enabled for use on Verizon's network. Why? Because Verizon wants you to buy their hardware.
How does the Moto G7 compare with the Moto G fast or Moto G Power?
I had the G7 and just got the G Power. The G Power is much better in my opinion. Seems to be faster, camera is better, speakers are way better, gets a better signal and can use it for 2 full days without charging.
