Let's hope Costco matches and the iPhone 7 or even the 6s are eligible

Yeah, I can see T-mobile scheming now on the terms:
Add 3 lines of Magenta only, requires 36 months of bill credits, trade-in iPhone X or higher and one major organ ...

As a Tmobile customer; I think I will not be eligible as Tmobile does not do anything for existing and loyal customers...
I may start a new plan under my wife's name but can I port my numbers between Tmobile...

Also; hoping that Costco will come up with a similar plan without bill credit.

As long as we can pay it off early, and unlock it and still get bill credits this might be a good deal.
That's what I do with all the bill credits plans. I know I still need to stay with TMo to realize the full potential, but I don't have any plan on leaving to a more expensive plan anytime soon.

You can't port out between tmobile numbers. You will have to port out another way.

Eligible trade-ins:

Get $500 off:
Apple: iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max

Get $415 off:
Apple: iPhone 11, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus

Get $300 off:
Apple: iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE 2nd gen

Get $215 off:
Apple: iPhone 6S, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE

Get $50 off:
Apple: iPhone 5s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4s, iPhone 4, iPhone 3 GS, iPhone 3G, iPhone 1st gen

Extra $200 off details:
Quote :
Starting October 16, 2020, if you're an eligible customer on an account established as of November 30, 2015 with an eligible device active on our network between August 2, 2020 - October 2, 2020, you can get $200 back (after rebate via virtual prepaid card for T-Mobile customers; via 30 monthly bill credits for Sprint customers) when you pre-order or purchase a new eligible Apple iPhone and trade in / turn-in an eligible iPhone.
It's worth noting that this is a requirement to be eligible for the extra $200:
Quote :
Have an eligible iPhone with active service associated with it for at least one day between August 2, 2020 - October 2, 2020.
This appears to mean the iPhone you're trading in must have been active and associated with the line/account between those dates, meaning you can't just get a used iPhone laying around and use that for the trade-in if you want the $200 rebate.

Terms for extra $200 off:
Quote :
Extra $200 off an iPhone 12/12 Pro: Tax on pre-credit price due at sale. Limited-time offer; subject to change. Qualifying credit, service, & iPhone trade-in required. If you have cancelled voice lines in past 90 days, reactivate them first. $10 SIM card, and, in stores & on customer service calls, $20 assisted or upgrade support charge may be required. Sprint customers: If you cancel your line before receiving 30 bill credits, you may owe up to the full value of your device (e.g. $829.99 – iPhone 12 64GB / $879.99 – iPhone 12 128GB / $979.99 – iPhone 12 256GB / $999.99 - iPhone 12 Pro 128GB / $1,099.99 - iPhone 12 Pro 256GB / $1,299.99 – iPhone 12 Pro 512GB); if canceling your account, you can contact us first to instead make discounted monthly balance payments. Up to $200 via bill credits/virtual prepaid Mastercard® Card. Card can be used online or in-store via accepted mobile payment apps; no cash access & expires in 6 months. Card is issued by Sunrise Banks N.A., Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Mastercard International Incorporated. Mastercard is a registered trademark of Mastercard International Incorporated. Use of this card constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions stated in the Cardholder Agreement. Lines must be active and in good standing when card is issued. Register code within 30 days of purchasing device. Allow 6-8 weeks from fulfilment of offer requirements; must be active and in good standing to receive credits/card. Max 4/account. May not be combinable with some offers or discounts (e.g. Carrier Freedom).

Not gonna happen. They suckered too many of us in during the last two rounds of free lines, and free devices after 24 months of bill credits. We're stuck for a while.
I have none of that. All our phones are paid clean for years. All I have is 4 lines for $100 from their recent promo and I dont even need 4 lines. All we have is 3 lines plus a tablet which is on wifi 99.9% of the time

If I have to pay say $140 on VZ for 3 lines with free iPhones then I can clearly see it as a better deal ( 40 X 24 = $960 in extra payments vs $2100 or so in phone savings)

Ordinarily I don't care abt these promos but all of us have iPhone 7 and we have to upgrade

I'm not a T-mobile shill and am anti-corporate in general, but I have to say the past few months T-mobile has been rocking the deals for current customers.

I guess you missed the recent deals for various free phones, free additional lines, BYOD rebates, Hookup codes and rebates, etc.

Plus we get Netflix credit monthly and T-mobile Tuesday perks (which are mostly lame but sometimes good).

Overall, not too shabby IMHO.
I got two free lines and two free S20 FE after credits. I'm totally happy with T-Mobile existing customer treatment.

I think the dollars off with trade you you posted are when a new line is activated. Current customers that just trade in get a lower dollar amount for their trade in.

Might be the below numbers, respectively...
$500 $415 $300 $215 $50

How does it make any sense that the iPhone 8 gets a higher value trade in than the 2nd gen SE? Isn't the SE just a revamped iPhone 8 with a better chip?

30 months of bill credits = 2.5 yrs to get the discount? What am I missing? Not great if you like updating every year or two.
