It is what it is. That is also mentioned in the OP. If you simply want to upgrade the device, it will be $500 if trading higher end phones. Additional $200 if you qualify for the Loyalty Offer.

Hmm. But they want $70/month for 30 months for a middle tier plan. I pay $15/month via Mint Mobile which uses T-Mobile's network (would be $35 for unlimited data).

$2100 cost on T-Mobile vs $450 cost on Mint.

Never seems like these "deals" get me to a better space unless someone loves the provider.

Despite the ad, T-Mobile valued my iPhone X trade in at $215. So ended up not doing the trade-in deal.
