Let's hope Costco matches and the iPhone 7 or even the 6s are eligible
Yeah, I can see T-mobile scheming now on the terms:
Add 3 lines of Magenta only, requires 36 months of bill credits, trade-in iPhone X or higher and one major organ ...
Hoping for iPhone 12 Mini promos.

Has anyone gone to Costco this morning and figured out what their promo is? I was told today they would know at the kiosk
I did. The IP12 is 83.00 cheaper then TMobile and they are giving a virtual gift card for trade in amount. I was told for my IP X it would be 374. They are not matching any additional 200 loyalty rebate or such. I pinged TMO on Facebook to see if costco purchases are eligible for the loyalty rebate

Depends which promo you are talking about. The "up to $500 with trade in" has no plan requirement, but the $200 loyalty has:

Plus, eligible customers (business customers, too!) who have been with T-Mobile, including Sprint, for 5+ years can get a $200 rebate on any new iPhone when they trade or turn in any active iPhone on an eligible plan. This can be combined with the $500 off deal.

I talked to their support and my account is not eligible for the loyalty deal even though I have been with T-Mo for 5+ years.
You might want to ask a different representative on T-Force just to double-check.

In the detailed requirements of the promo, they don't mention having to be on any specific plan. Normally they would list out specifically that you'd need to be a certain plans like Magenta or One to qualify, but not here.

Also, it would seem kind of odd to offer a promo to only customers with 5+ year tenure but require them to be on plans less than 5 years old.

That's what I thought I asked T-Force yesterday about Costco and they said only purchases made through T-mobile.

Yeah I'm beginning to think this time around costco deal isn't the better option.....think we will have to go with TMO option for that extra 200.b

Yup. As another DP, T-force confirmed the same for me. Loyalty is only via Tmo orders.

Sorry if this has been answered before, i have 4 lines on simple choice grandfathered plan....2 of those lines are not used much. So if i add 2 lines trading in 2 iphone 6 and cancel the 2 old lines that i dont use, can i get $380 per line that i add?
B/c you are on Simple Choice they'll likely ask you to move over to Essentials or Magenta. Might not be the best move depending on what your monthly payments are.

T-Fore has been telling me different things.

If trade in a iPhone XR and receive $415 they said $193 of the trade in value is instant on the device and the rest is spread out in Credits?!

But other say the $415 is divided into 30 credits? Wth lol

Honestly... the system has done it both ways. That's why you're getting different answers lol.
That's why the promo terms say "up to" in the language.

For last year's iPhone 11 launch deal they weren't supposed to give upfront trade-in credit but did anyway, even though my bill credits started showing up as the full promo amount divided into monthly credits.

So I later ended up getting a bunch of promo un-enrollment and re-enrollment texts (https://imgur.com/a/KkP4fyx) since T-Mobile had to correct the monthly credit amounts to accurately reflect my trade-in credit I already received. This happened to a lot of people.

The existing line promotion and $200 loyalty promotion works with Simple Choice plans.
Not sure if the "add-a-line" promo does.

Costco sells phones for 10% off list price. So if phone costs $830, Costco price is $830-$83 = $747. If trade-in values are the same, then basically the decision comes down to whether one wants to pay $117 more at Costco to avoid the 30-month contract with T-Mobile. But don't forget, the point is moot for the $200 loyalty bonus if one has not been with T-mobile for 5+ years.

IMHO, if one has a newer phone and does not qualify for T-mobile loyalty credit, the better choice is to sell the phone yourself. Then buy the discounted iPhone 12 at Costco. No rebates, contracts, or trades involved. Move on with your life with less headaches and hassles.

If that's the case, we are best off just buying from Costco for the usual 10% off pricing in-warehouse and then just selling the current phone on Swappa or something (if you have iPhone 11 series). IF you have an old phone and 5+ year promo option...then trading in the oldies to T-Mobile directly is the better deal.

It appears that for upgrade with trade-in on T-mobile website, one has to do check out one phone at a time. Is that right? Can anyone confirm? Thanks.... it's a little annoying when you have 6 phones
We ordered them one at a time via T Mobiles website. We have 4 Simple Choice lines and upgraded on 2 of them. Each one done separately. My wife wanted the Blue 12 Pro 128gb and has a shipping date of Nov.12th-18th. My son got the Blue 12 128gb and has shipping date of October 23rd. It would have been nice to do a "add all to cart option" but it seems we saved 20.00 in fees for each order doing it online so we'll talke it.
