Let's hope Costco matches and the iPhone 7 or even the 6s are eligible
Yeah, I can see T-mobile scheming now on the terms:
Add 3 lines of Magenta only, requires 36 months of bill credits, trade-in iPhone X or higher and one major organ ...
Hoping for iPhone 12 Mini promos.

The way I read it, for 5+ year customers that do not want to add a line, the upgrade promos are effectively:

$700 off: Apple iPhone: 11 Pro (excluding 512GB model), 11 Pro Max (excluding 256GB and 512GB models), XS, XS Max

$615 off: Apple iPhone: 11, X, XR, 8, 8 Plus

$500 off: Apple iPhone: 7, 7 Plus, SE 2020

$415 off: Apple iPhone: 6s, 6s Plus, 6, 6 Plus, SE

$250 off: Apple iPhone: 5S, 5, 5c, 4S, 3GS, 3G, Original iPhone

Is that right?
From the T-Mobile website, I am not seeing the iPhone 6s included in the $200 rebate for 2020 Apple Upgrade P3
Terms & Conditions

Beware that most phones older than an year or so will not qualify for trade-in because t-mobile is very strict about inspection these days. I took my iPhone 7, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 5 to them, all of them in working condition. They found flaws with each of them and didn't accept them. Even the loyalty program needs the similar trade-in that must pass the rigorous inspection. So, I wouldn't bank upon these trade-in deals anymore.
Well that's a bummer. What kind of flaws did they find?

I just tried to upgrade a line and was told that I can't do the loyalty rebate. They said the computer self identifies those accounts that qualify and mine didn't. However it does have an additional line Which she said was rare. I'm a 55plus. When I tried to get the free line a couple of months ago . That wouldn't work either.
Strange. My dad is on 55plus plan. He was told he was eligible for the loyalty rebate.

Is T-Mobile going to force simple choice customers to change plan to get 5g iPhone? Any ideas? Did anyone with simple choice did a preorder?
I have Simple Choice. I just click on the "upgrade available" on the lines in my account and preorder the phone with the trade-in deal without problem.

55Plus is only good for up to 2 lines. No free additional is eligible even if you have only one line in the account.

Anyone on Select Choice (not simple choice) plan went through the ordering process and receipt shows that bill credits will be applied? I asked them on twitter and am told that select choice is excluded from bill credits.

I have a question. We both are on T-Mobile one plan for last 2 years.

Now, if I want to avail the $850 for add a new line + trade-in, how can I add a line to a grand-fathered plan like Tmo-One?

Some great info from an 8 year TMo customer.

I purchased 2 iPhone 12 Pro's yesterday @ 8am and 1 iPhone 12.

Here is how it worked for me.

Line 1 - New iPhone 12 Pro - 999.99 w/ tax 1069.99 - I paid 249.99 down + 70. = 319.99
Traded in my XS got $500 in 24 monthly credits. My EIP will be $10.41 a month 24 months. I also will get a virtual prepaid card for $200 7-10 days after the phone is delivered. I plan on using the $200 to pay down the EIP. The rep told me to wait one month so the EIP hits my account before paying down the balance.

Line 2 - New iPhone 12 Pro - 999.99 w/ tax 1069.99 - I paid 249.99 down + 70. = 319.99
Traded in my X got $415 in 24 monthly credits. My EIP will be $13.95 a month 24 months. I also will get a virtual prepaid card for $200 7-10 days after the phone is delivered. I plan on using the $200 to pay down the EIP.

Line 3 - New iPhone 12 - 829.99 w/ tax 882.09 - I paid 169.99 down + 58.10. = 228.09
Traded in my X got $415 in 24 monthly credits. My EIP will be $10.20 a month 24 months. I also will get a virtual prepaid card for $200 7-10 days after the phone is delivered. I plan on using the $200 to pay down the EIP.

Any questions? I have a simple choice plan that is 4 unlimited lines and one data line I got for free for $157 with tax and fees.

Ask them to copy and paste the full terms for you and show you where Select Choice is excluded. I have a feeling they're looking at the wrong deal.

Grandfathered plans can add lines. They just can't switch back if they move to a different plan type.

Yes. Thanks for that . So what's your total out of pocket up front ? And then do you have to pay per month or will they charge upfront and give you credit for it over 30 months .
