Have one and worth it. I had a stupid chain but that thing snapped off pretty easy. I have a kid with autism that likes to try to run out and into the street while we aren't watching. A door security device like this is a must have. I was able to put this up high enough that my kid can't reach it for now. When he can it will slow him down. It is also very solid and effective at holding the door closed. WAY better than the stupid chain. Only difference is that with a chain or other device you could open the door slightly to interact with someone on the other side without fully opening the door. Considering how easy it is to pop those chains though, I doubt it would stop anyone from seriously trying to push through when the door is partially open already. So I consider the small advantage of interacting with people to not be worth it at all.

As for security from the outside, it is very solid. Even with the door unlock I can't open the door as a 275 lb man shouldering it from the outside trying to open it. I didn't try kicking it and really going at it, but I believe it would really slow down any actual forceful attempt I tried to make. More so than any other door security device.

Suffice it to say, I think it is a good product.

I know you didn't ask me. But, I can say that this did actually keep someone from kicking my door in. And they seriously tried! Watching the video, of when someone tried, for a good solid 7 minutes. I was suprised how well it worked.
