Excellent price. Listening to mine right now. These sit *deep* in the ear, which has tradeoffs:

PROS:
- Excellent noise isolation. These are ideal for long flights.
- Very comfortable (for me)

CONS:
- Excessive movement can lead to itchiness or discomfort after a while
- Cable can introduce some handling noise.

These are great for profound isolation if you're not moving too much. I have the SEs. I like the flat response for video/audio work, but I probably suggest the XRs for music listeners.
Etymotic's neutral is as close to a neutral reference as you'll find anywhere. They've made their name on it for probably 20yrs now.

Are these more neutral or bass-tuned? I've heard of a lot of "Studio" headphones/earphones that use the term just as a marketing gimmick, without sounding neutral at all

Thank you for the break down. What do these usually sell for? Also, are there any options for lower budget earphones that are similar quality?
Thanks, just thought I would ask before I splurge on these.

These are good for a long airplane flight with crying kids. Couldn't pay me to take an airplane ride right now. They do sit deep and the cable does transmit noise from clothing.

Why can't I use this deal when my network wide ad blocker is enabled?

If you are using something like PiHole, I've witnessed the same and deal with it all of the time when I am using my rooted phone with AdAway. Similarly, Ghostery blocks the links, so its because Slickdeals will a lot of times will use some type of affiliate link.

Not sure if I want to grab this, since I was waiting for the 4SR or 3SE to go on sale when my ER4P started acting up and decided to try out the ER3XR.

Slickdeals links go through referral sites to make money, some of these redirects are through ads websites that are blocked by adblock software.

Anyone think the 4xr will go on sale soon?

4xr were 199 at Adorama a month ago, then 4sr went 160 twice in past month. I'd expect the 4xr to at least see 199 again soon.

Yeah I nabbed the SR for 160, hoping the XR will show up at that price before the return window closes... though I hear there's really not that much difference
