I have a first generation with the 6th gen intel and it still working well. I use it mostly for productivity purposes and it has been great. Just want to share that depending on your use, this is still a well built device that can be use for many more years.

I got this same laptop in May 2019 for $1200. I dont think this is really a good deal, but find the computer more than adequate for my needs (upper level education). The one shortfall was the lack of a usb c connection, but again was not a deal breaker for me.

EDIT*** - mine has the integrated graphics card, not the 1050 card. did not catch that in original stats

Yep, but noone ever really repairs ultra portables like this. They are almost impossible to get back together, thats why if it fails within warranty they usually just swap it with another one.

Luckily this is a thing of the past since MS moved to all magnetic type closures and no longer using adhesives as the primary binding agent.

For a BNIB device this is a good price, you wont find any other laptop with this much power in this small of a form factor. Yes its a few generations older for the CPU, but its a intel they dont make huge leaps ever year, more like every 5 years, lol.

With the 1050 graphics card in it, that would be a steal in 2019? You sure you didnt get the integrated graphics version?

The title on Walmart page says GTX 1050, but the Tech Spec has "NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 discrete GPU w/6GB GDDR5 graphics memory"

Yep it happens, the card makes the big difference. A lot of engineering to fit a discreet 1050 graphics card into a 13.5 form factor and still have it cooled efficiently and not throttle. This laptop is the definition of a beast for its time. I still cant think of any other laptop to match its power for form factor. I always wanted one but it was always too expensive and the company would never reimburse me if I tried to use it for business use. I make a good amount, but could just never justify it.

I believe they are refreshing the product lines so will be interesting to see what else MS comes up with.

That would be in the larger 15" version not in the 13.5" best to my knowledge MS never ever made a 13.5 with a 1060, it came only with the 1050.
