If you are not a heavy data user, say less than 3GB monthly, major savings are available. I was with Verizon and all the costs just kept adding up. Monthly fee, line fee, 911, taxes, regulatory, on and on....

Is Xfinity right for everyone, no. Is it right for savers who don't use a phone constantly for streaming, for video, for online gaming, for regular Google mapping; yes it is.

My monthly bill is between $16 and $28, just depends on data usage. Locations I had a problem with Verizon service are the same locations I have problems with Xfinity, but those are very, very few.

My Verizon bill, no matter what was around 60 per line. Don't need to pay all that money to pad someone else's pockets.

Look at your monthly data avg., to see what makes cents and dollars.

Xfinity phones are locked until paid off, I believe. I unlocked my last xfinity iPhone after first billing cycle as I paid in full when opening the account, admittedly a couple of years ago now.
Last December my friend bought iPhone from Xfinity. He thought it will be unlocked once paying off in full. That's true but Xfinity taking full price in 24 installments only (No option to pay full in one installment) & as per them phone cannot be unlocked until that time.

for someone that has been a verizon subscriber for the last 20 years, and happy with their service, what are the pros and cons switching to Xfinity mobile? I understand they use the same vzw towers? So thinking speeds and reception should be the same?

Curious to know if anyone from vzw switched to here, and their thoughts.
We switched from Verizon to Xfinity a few years ago and have the same speed and reception. We are happy with the switch - same service for a fraction of the cost!

Right now I use Cricket on a locked AT&T iPhone SE 1st generation.
I'm xfinity internet customer.
Can I get a iphone 12 and new phone number from xfinity and pay 3 month of $15 and get the $250 discount, and have new phone unlocked, then put my Cricket SIM card to iPhone 12?

If the phone trade-in is given in a rebate card and not monthly credits, this could be the best deal yet on the new iPhone given that the other providers are doing credits.

Criteria for unlocking an xfinity mobile phone: https://www.xfinity.com/mobile/su...lock-phone
Expect them to be PIA about it AND most importantly if you sell it before unlocking next owner won't be able to unlock without using some kind of shady service since xfinity only unlocks to original buyer only so even if it's paid off in full they will deny unlock if it's requested from other than original purchaser account. I fought with them about 8 plus that I bought and used as BYOD when I asked for unlock 3 weeks horror began, I dropped them right away afterwards.

Thanks. Is it because xfinity phone doesn't take SIM card?

Xfinity is verizon MVNO, so it's basically Verizon network but billed by Xfinity - https://www.moneysavingpro.com/ce...izon-mvno/

My friend works for Comcast and they use a combonation of wifi hot spots which most customers have in their internet modem with a bulit in public guest wifi option. (you can shut if off but is on already. Comcast also uses Verizon's network with performance very similar. If you're happy with Verizon then be cautious about switching because Verizon mobile is known for much better customer service compare to Xfinity/Comcast.
