If you are not a heavy data user, say less than 3GB monthly, major savings are available. I was with Verizon and all the costs just kept adding up. Monthly fee, line fee, 911, taxes, regulatory, on and on....

Is Xfinity right for everyone, no. Is it right for savers who don't use a phone constantly for streaming, for video, for online gaming, for regular Google mapping; yes it is.

My monthly bill is between $16 and $28, just depends on data usage. Locations I had a problem with Verizon service are the same locations I have problems with Xfinity, but those are very, very few.

My Verizon bill, no matter what was around 60 per line. Don't need to pay all that money to pad someone else's pockets.

Look at your monthly data avg., to see what makes cents and dollars.

Sounds like that would be the only way if it in fact works.

Xfinity is verizon MVNO, so it's basically Verizon network but billed by Xfinity - https://www.moneysavingpro.com/ce...izon-mvno/
Yes and unlike most MVNOs, Xfinity Mobile gets postpaid priority data on By The Gig plans (unlimited is still deprioritized unless you pay $20 for the HD Pass). Xfinity Mobile and Spectrum Mobile are the only Verizon MVNOs that get postpaid priority data.

If the line is canceled, voluntarily or involuntarily, or device payments are accelerated, the remaining credits associated with device payments are lost.

Will they apply the discount if I wish to leave?

Sorry not worth it for $250 savings over 24 months....if they gave the $250 up front that is different...but not $10 a month. I'll switch carriers for $850 off of a phone instead over 24 months Frown

Isn't the $850 off also over 30 months and usually requires an unlimited plan?

I don't know if it's possible to switch first and then upgrade in order to get $250 prepaid card versus 24 months.

So existing customers with paid out phones can upgrade and get 250$ per each upgrade?
Yes, up to $2500 according the fine print.

Thanks for sharing. Just to clarify:

Were you an existing Xfinity customer?

Did you trade in your existing phones? If so, how did you find the trade in value? All I see is "take it to a store for appraisal.l"

I'm not a current customer so trying to get two new lines with two iPhone 12s and get the $250 without monthly credits.

Thanks again
I did not trade in the phones, since they values aren't that good (at least from what I heard from another thread a while back). Someone said a possible workaround for the $250 prepaid card is to byod for a week and then upgrade them, but not sure.

FYI, for those considering trade-in of your current device:
https://www.xfinity.com/mobile/su...-old-phone

Per the instructions in the link above, I called (888) 936-4968 and was told they couldn't evaluate or quote a trade-in value over the phone and I would have to visit an Xfinity Store (directly contradicting the website).

Aside from selling on FB Marketplace or Craigslist, what is the best way to get rid of an old device for maximum value? Gazelle is saying $153 for my like-new iPhone8+ which seems low.
BuyBackBoss is offering $190 for 8 Plus 64GB in good condition. I always get the highest offers from BuyBackBoss and I had no problem getting my credit for the iPhone 8 Plus two years ago - they're offering $380 for my XS Max 64GB right now.

Yeah, I'm a frequent user of Swappa, figured TripeoXxX was looking for an easy way to get rid of their phone (and lose out on some extra money for the convenience). Looking at the price trends for my phone, it looks like last sold price was about $434. Subtract about $45 for Swappa, Paypal and shipping costs and you're looking at a little under $400. So it depends on if $84 is worth it to you to get rid of your old phone faster.
Honestly I never bothered with private sale sites because there is always the chance you're going to get some jerk who wants to try to rip you off.

VZW vs Xfin

Top end speed on xfin is slower (i currently get about 25mbps on lte, i think i got up to 50 on VZW)
mvnos tend to be squeezed during congestion in favor of original carrier
This is only true on the old By The Gig plan or if you have unlimited and no HD Pass. If you have a 2020 BTG plan or the $20 HD Pass on unlimited, you have the same priority Verizon's highest consumer wireless plan does. The QCI code has been tested even and it's 8, just like Verizon's $90 Get More Unlimited (lower plans on Verizon are all QCI 9).

What if you keep the phone payment plan but cancel the service? Would you get penalized with the discount revoked?

I am happy to see XM offer discounts on the new devices. I have been a customer since 2017 and I was thinking about porting out to Tello to save some money (I would pay $6.07 with taxes since my usage is extremely low) but since BuyBackBoss is offering $380 for my XS Max and XM is offering $250 to upgrade, I would be looking at $549 with taxes after everything was all said and done to get a 12 Pro Max. Can't pass that up. Hopefully the XS Max pricing doesn't crash between now and when my phone arrives in November but I can't see it going too much lower when Apple is offering $370 directly.
