If you are not a heavy data user, say less than 3GB monthly, major savings are available. I was with Verizon and all the costs just kept adding up. Monthly fee, line fee, 911, taxes, regulatory, on and on....

Is Xfinity right for everyone, no. Is it right for savers who don't use a phone constantly for streaming, for video, for online gaming, for regular Google mapping; yes it is.

My monthly bill is between $16 and $28, just depends on data usage. Locations I had a problem with Verizon service are the same locations I have problems with Xfinity, but those are very, very few.

My Verizon bill, no matter what was around 60 per line. Don't need to pay all that money to pad someone else's pockets.

Look at your monthly data avg., to see what makes cents and dollars.

Has anyone ported out from verizon to xfinity? I heard the other way is a huge pain.
It took me less than 15 minutes. It actually took me longer to walk across the parking lot while fumbling to put my damn mask on.

Well worth the switch.

I dropped xfinity at the start of this year when they sent out emails explaining that ALL customers are subject to be deprioritized from verizon's network at times of high use REGARDLESS of your data used.

You are a second class citizen on verizon's towers. If verizon gets busy you will legitimately be deprioritized for verizon's customers.

This can make sense for many individuals in many circumstances, but if you are someone that ever needs your phone for anything important or need it for business, this service simply isn't an option.

They took away the generation 1 plans about a month after I switched to them a while back. The rep told me they aren't making money on those plans and moving people to gen 2 because that forces a minimum $12.00 charge for 1gb. Pretty shady seeing most if not all companies let you stay grandfathered. My recommendation is get your phone and your rebate and look around for something better.

Am I understanding this correctly that if I want the $250 prepaid card and not the monthly credits, my account has to be over one billing cycle old?
That's what I was told but the second I got home and checked my account it seems that I could buy a phone for the new lines and get the $250 card -- you can see it on the last page before checking out. I'm not sure who to believe so I will wait until the first bill passes.

Xfinity mobile has been perfect for me. Was paying $157 for 4 lines on Tmobile for unlimited (unlimited international calling plan as well and Netflix included). First couple bills have been $67 total for a 10 GB shared 4 lines and covers my 5 cents a minute calls to Germany to call family. Also got $100 for 2 byod and 2 free moto e 2020 phones for the parents (2 year device credits but only $150 each minus the credits received if I leave before then)

Service is notably better as well using Verizon towers vs. Sprint/Tmobile

I have had to manage the usage more and make tweaks to the phones to conserve more data, where unlimited I didn't care, but really there is a hotspot everywhere and we really only use data when driving/streaming.

The biggest downside to xfinity and the reason it took a while for me to switch is limited byod options which forces buying an accepted unlocked phone or one of their devices.

The right deal finally came up and I jumped in.

I thought it was understood everyone would be a 2nd class citizen on Verizon's towers. Xfinity is a MVNO using Verizon's service. Deprioritization comes with the territory when using MVNOs. I've experienced it in busy airports and I admit it's annoying when it happens.

Since you've left xfinity mobile, where did you go and do you like them better?

Xfinity phones are locked until paid off, I believe. I unlocked my last xfinity iPhone after first billing cycle as I paid in full when opening the account, admittedly a couple of years ago now.
How did you unlock yours? I have an iphone 8 that is xfinity locked and it is paid off.

No. Just pay the phone in full, then you will get the GC in 4 months. It takes 4 months to get GC anyways. I did the deal with the iphone SE back in late July.

Fwiw I just got confirmation that my $200 rebate from a previous offer is approved and will be sent to me in the coming weeks. Exactly 13 weeks from date of activation for my upgraded line.

Not sure this is correct. I have a new line, and when I look at the 12 pro on the site, it only shows the $250 in bill credits if I select pay over time. If i select pay in full now, it does not show the $250 prepaid card. It shows $999.

Why is it shady? The same way you have a right to cancel the service any time you want is the same way they have a right to change the price. And it is not true at all that most other companies let you stay grandfathered. Companies change their prices all the time.

I've had many grandfathered plans with T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint. They all honored the plan I had after their changes or cancellation of a plan. Many people can attest to companies letting people keep grandfathered plans. The reason I say it's shady is because I signed up a month before it changed. I received an email 30 days later saying your plan is going away and we will be moving you to another plan. It felt like a bait and switch.
