\n \n \n \n Quote\n from Lumeria\n \n \n \n \n :\n \n Thanks for adding the joyous announcement of the winner to the last thread. I forgot about doing that part.\n | \n

\n
\n \n \n \n Quote\n from Lumeria\n \n \n \n \n :\n \n It made me laugh to see you put in the countdown timer on the very first day. Out of curiosity, how do you include it? I don't see it in the post's source.\n | \n
\nIt looks like, [COUNTDOWN="01/19/2021 10:00 AM"]
\nCountdown To Gigaparts Yaesu FT-DX101D Sweepstakes End[/COUNTDOWN] The [SIZE=n] command only effects the size of the font of the text in the clock box, not the size of the clock.
\n
\nCOUNTDOWN is documented on this page https://slickdeals.net/forums/misc.php?do=bbc
\n
\nThe date and time are a little tricky in that it has to be a string in quotes in the format shown and it has to be Pacific Standard time so 12 noon Central time is specified as 10:00 AM during Standard time and during Central Daylight savings time is specified as 9:00 AM. If the countdown straddles the transition between Daylight and Standard time you have to compensate. It's all very confusing.
\n
\nAlso the format of the clock when posted looks entirely different from the example output on the bbcode page and what you see in Preview Post. In preview you see
\nsomething like
\n
\n94
\nDays6
\nHours13
\nMinutes19
\nSeconds
\nCountdown To Gigaparts Yaesu FT-DX101D Sweepstakes End
\n
\nWhich looks all screwed up. But when you actually post it comes out right. Preview Post is not entirely WYSWIG.","hideTimestamp":false,"timestampFormatted":"10-17-2020 at 04:09 AM.","permalink":"/f/14443832-gigaparts-yaesu-ft-dx101d-sweepstakes-ends-january-19-2021-fcc-licensed-us-amateur-operators-only?p=141313292#post141313292","postId":141313292},"commentSectionCommentFooter":{"editedText":"Last edited by DennisRoth October 17, 2020 at 06:08 AM."},"commentIsHelpful":null,"commentGiveRepPopover":{"username":"DennisRoth","userAvatar":"/attachment/avatar/1/1/4/5/3/3/0/0/150x150/avatar.normal?dateline=1526213786","headline":"Say Thanks & Give Rep!","subtext":"","authorText":"DennisRoth posted this comment. \nThe early FT-101 SSB Transceiver operates as how many watts SSB?
\n
\nAnswer: 260
\n
\nEntry page https://www.gigaparts.n
\n
\nRead carefully. They were asking about the early FT-101, not the newer FTDX-101 that's the prize in this contest.
\n
\n 1971 FT-101 https://en.wikipedia.or
\n
\n
\n \n \n \n Quote\n :\n \n Power Output: SSB 260 watts PEP DC In (130 watts out), CW 180 watts PEP DC In (90 watts out), AM 80 watts PEP DC In (40 watts out).\n | \n
\n \n \n \n Quote\n from Lumeria\n \n \n \n \n :\n \n A new error (at least for me)! "You did not select an answer. Please select one of the four choices or you may leave this page and return to it later to answer the bonus question. The bonus question resets at midnight US Central Time."\n | \n

\nWhat is the supply voltage for a FTDX101MP?
\n
\nAnswer: 100/200V
\n
\nEntry page https://www.gigaparts.n
\n
\n FTDX101MP/FTDX101D Operation Manual Page 115 https://static.dxengine
\n
\nThe question asks about the MP model, not the D model which is the contest prize.
\nThe FTDX101MP rig comes with the FPS-101 External Power Supply. The FTDX101D does not.
\nFWIW, the INPUT of the FPS-101 External Power Supply is marked 100-240 V, 9 A, 50/60 Hz.
\nBut the spec page of the combined operation manual says 100/200. I'd wager it also runs on 240 V 50 Hz since they're selling it in Europe.","hideTimestamp":false,"timestampFormatted":"10-19-2020 at 03:57 AM.","permalink":"/f/14443832-gigaparts-yaesu-ft-dx101d-sweepstakes-ends-january-19-2021-fcc-licensed-us-amateur-operators-only?p=141358982#post141358982","postId":141358982},"commentSectionCommentFooter":[],"commentIsHelpful":null,"commentGiveRepPopover":{"username":"DennisRoth","userAvatar":"/attachment/avatar/1/1/4/5/3/3/0/0/150x150/avatar.normal?dateline=1526213786","headline":"Say Thanks & Give Rep!","subtext":"","authorText":"DennisRoth posted this comment. *PRODUCT REVIEW* Yaesu QTR-24 Clock http://www.delta-alfa.com/qtr-24/
QTR? - What is the correct time?
QTR XXXX - The correct time is XXXX hours.
First defined by the Washington 1927 ITU Radio Regulations. Later defined by ITU-R in Appendix 9 to the Radio Regulations Annex to the International Telecommunications Convention (Atlantic City) 1947. The current callsign table is found in ITU-R Appendix 42. Current interpretation of the Q-code can be found in ITU-R Appendices 14 and 15.

FWIW, they've announced the winner of the last contest. K5IFO [gigaparts.net]
Last winter they did a Christmas prize package that was more than just an FTDX101, worth more than 5 grand. A little disappointing that they are not doing it again this year.
Looks like it's the same old prize with the same old questions. Likely we can just follow along the
last thread for the answers.
Oh boy, only 95 more days of daily entries!
What year was the FT-101 first made by Yaesu?
Answer: Early 1971
Entry Page: http://www.gigaparts.n

It looks like, [COUNTDOWN="01/19/2021 10:00 AM"]
Countdown To Gigaparts Yaesu FT-DX101D Sweepstakes End[/COUNTDOWN] The [SIZE=n] command only effects the size of the font of the text in the clock box, not the size of the clock.
COUNTDOWN is documented on this page https://slickdeals.net/forums/misc.php?do=bbc
The date and time are a little tricky in that it has to be a string in quotes in the format shown and it has to be Pacific Standard time so 12 noon Central time is specified as 10:00 AM during Standard time and during Central Daylight savings time is specified as 9:00 AM. If the countdown straddles the transition between Daylight and Standard time you have to compensate. It's all very confusing.
Also the format of the clock when posted looks entirely different from the example output on the bbcode page and what you see in Preview Post. In preview you see
something like
94
Days6
Hours13
Minutes19
Seconds
Countdown To Gigaparts Yaesu FT-DX101D Sweepstakes End
Which looks all screwed up. But when you actually post it comes out right. Preview Post is not entirely WYSWIG.
I went back to the previous page and it states that I already answered the question (although without confirming that it had been answered correctly). My computer has at times been extraordinarily slow, so that may have triggered the error. It's unimportant, but I figured I'd share the error just because, well, it's something different. Interestingly, it's still there when I then go forward again, and persists when I refresh the page.
The early FT-101 SSB Transceiver operates as how many watts SSB?
Answer: 260
Entry page https://www.gigaparts.n
Read carefully. They were asking about the early FT-101, not the newer FTDX-101 that's the prize in this contest.

What is the supply voltage for a FTDX101MP?
Answer: 100/200V
Entry page https://www.gigaparts.n
FTDX101MP/FTDX101D Operation Manual Page 115 https://static.dxengine
The question asks about the MP model, not the D model which is the contest prize.
The FTDX101MP rig comes with the FPS-101 External Power Supply. The FTDX101D does not.
FWIW, the INPUT of the FPS-101 External Power Supply is marked 100-240 V, 9 A, 50/60 Hz.
But the spec page of the combined operation manual says 100/200. I'd wager it also runs on 240 V 50 Hz since they're selling it in Europe.
