The Carolina is a favorite of kittens I've been fostering, but it does not at all maintain its pile after 1 washing (it DOES get dirty quickly), and some cats will tear the fluff off. Consider it disposable. I got mine from Macy's for $5 and free ship with no minimum a few months back.

By the way, the "regular" prices on these are total lies.

If you have more than one cat I wouldn't suggest it. I know for a fact if one of my cat's were in there the other would sit on top of it

Second. I bought one from Amazon and it's essentially batting, like the kind you would buy from the craft store to stuff inside a pillow you're making. It looks like something that should be inside a cover, but it isn't...like they forget to sew the fabric cover over the stuffing. I honestly can't believe a bed is sold like this. As soon as your cat (or dog, even) starts pawing at it, it starts coming apart.
