These look like the same kinds of work gloves you can get at dollar stores...for a dollar, or 6 for $6.

Possibly, but these may have two advantages. Have not received mine, but photos show tags implying compliance with ANSI A4 for cuts and ANSI A6 for abrasion (ABR). Link below from Grainger covers meaning of those ANSI levels on gloves. Amazon private labels also tend to have consistent quality.
