Surprised no one posted this earlier with all the webcam posts. In store and in stock online. Only caveat is that you need to be a Costco member or have someone who is buy it for you.

Yes, says so I the description in the original post. It's plug and play. No additional software required.

That said, I did download software to adjust hue, white balance, saturation, etc.

I bought one of these earlier this year for work video calling when Logitech cameras were hard to find (I think I paid around $80 for it). I returned it when I was able to find a C920, and I've been much happier with the C920.

Two issues with this one:
- Fixed focus lens. I found that the background behind me tended to look like it was in focus and I always looked blurry (and possibly just a small sensor making the overall picture blurry).
- Out of box settings were awful. Super over-saturated colors, highlights completely blown out, to the extent that the laptop camera looked much better. I bought an OSX program called Webcam Settings that helped a lot (and Avermedia has a Windows program that does the same), but for ChromeOS there is no such software, so this camera would be a poor choice IMHO.

I did like the little privacy screen, and I was able to make the picture look fairly decent with some tweaking. This is a better price, but ultimately I found that spending a few more bucks on a Logitech made for much better video quality for work meetings.

I actually just bought this and returned it to Costco. The picture isn't nearly as good as a Logitech.

I'll basically just say the only two relatively affordable consumer webcams I've touched are the logitech C920 variants and the Razer Kiyo. Which often very hard to find sadly. Though I believe it's currently in stock? It's got a nice ring light on top of having many of the features in the same ballpark as the logitech.

Having 720/60 fps. Auto low light correction and better sensors is worth the extra cost without a shadow of a doubt.

Another purchaser that returned it to Costco. I bought it at full price before the sale but even at this sale price, the quality isn't impressive.

I'm looking for a good webcam with mic/speaker built in also (budget up to $200). The option seems to be limited.

Give eMEET a try. I just found this for $27. https://www.amazon.com/Webcam-Mic...08DXSG5QR/
I know there are lots of low quality webcams out there, but generally emeet gets good reviews and quality products. I also used their usb speakerphone for work. that's a cute little device.

In that range you should find some top notch ones. Try Logitech https://www.logitech.com/en-us/pr...io?crid=34

I returned this. The picture quality was not very good and looked very washed out even compared to the Surface laptop Cam.

I would not suggest

I have a C920 that I was letting my parents use until I bought this from Costco. The Mic is a lot better on this than the C920 in my opinion, since my parents need the built in Mic. The video is alright in the right lighting setting, but I don't think it's as good as my C920. This is a great deal, since this is around the price that I paid for my C920 a couple years ago.

I agree the stock settings over saturate the colors and are way off. However, with the downloaded software and tweaking, it's much better than my laptop camera. It is clearer, sharper, and better in low light environments, and strong backlight environments. But you have to tweak the settings that aren't too difficult to do. If you don't want to hassle with it, this is definitely not for you.
