Spoke with Sam's Club customer service about 2 weeks ago. Told your membership must be expired for 6 months before considered a "new" member sign up.

However, if someone else signs up as a new member then you can be their complimentary member no matter how long ago your membership expired.

I have both Costco and Sam's. I always get this Sam's deal. It always comes out free with deals like these. After going to Sam's and Costco's for 10+ years I have found some items at Sam's that I can't find at Costco. If I could only choose 1 membership it would probably be Costco but I really like Sam's too. I love the scan and go at Sam's. It really beats out having to wait in checkout to pay. Also the hotdogs are way better at Sam's lol.

Do you need a more compelling reason than free?

To get this $45 for free, you have to spend: $45 on membership and $45 in products.
So to get $45 free, you have to spend $90.
In other words, it is 50% off $90.
Have you ever shopped at a warehouse? $45 is not half of a regular trip unless you go there only for the hotdog and Pepsi.

Anyone knows basic eye exam cost without vision insurance at sams? TIA
In most states the optometrists are independent and the price will vary from store to store.

When does that second coupon come? I've gone to sams club and made a 70 dollar purchase using that first coupon. Still nothing...

I'm a Costco shopper. Does anyone have some compelling reasons as to why trying Sam's Club might be worthwhile?
Bar none tire service includes roadside assist.

If it's free it's for me, do you have a compelling reason not to join for free?

TP is on par with Charmin whereas Costco just sucks.

Scan and Go you will ask why you stand in line at Costco and I have both, go to Costco for phone churn mainly.

This who's better is kinda a silly moot point unless you are too far from either, no reason not to have Sams especially for free.

I've gotten some bad stuff at Costco. For example, they had some Turkey Jerky that tasted like shoe leather (smelled like it too), and I had kept it in my fridge and kind of forgot about returning it. When I did find it, it was just past expiration and I took it back, they argued with me about it, saying "it's expired, we can't take it back". I told them I had not returned any food items in at least four years, but this one was bad from the get-go and I wanted a refund. There's absolutely nothing in their policy that says if something is expired, you can't bring it back. They made that one up on the spot. Finally, the manager came and gave my money back, but not without a hassle. So yes, they can and WILL ask questions! And refuse to take something back, regardless of what their refund policy says "refund if not satisfied". Well, I wasn't satisfied, and they didn't want to give me a refund.

By the way, Sam's policy on returns is the same as Costco, there's no advantage with either store, as far as that goes. Return anything (exc. electronics/PCs) anytime for a full refund.
And why did you hold onto a bad product in your fridge forever instead of returning it immediately? That is on you...you shouldn't have been given a refund.

Create any new account with any new email and you're good, names don't even matter, just email. But it's still good form to alternate yearly. Also this is valid through jan 21

It is $45 off your first purchase, so spend $45 for the membership and then spend $0 to get $45 in product at Sam's Club, You are not spending $90. It is $45 out of pocket to get $45 of product AND the membership. Is it some super bargain...no, but it is not costing you anything more than if you went to your local market IF you can spend $45 there which since everyone needs to buy food or gas, is not really a problem imo. As to whether the membership is worth the hassle, it is a matter of debate obviously.

For "free" I might as well give them another try.
I completely gave up on Costco?? Higher prices for what they do carry and more times than not I walk out of there wondering why I even signed up. Gave them a few tries over the years but not worth it
End up always going back to BJ's, have what I want and run great sales plus manufacturers coupons
But again for free let's see what Sam's has these days !

Scan and go. Using your phone to scan items and checkout avoiding the checkout lines. Sometimes they separate scan and go receipt checkers at exit which lowers the amount if time I'm in the warehouse.

I use to be like you with BJs, but we got this offer back in February because it was free and next to my work. We ended up liking it so much we even got plus membership for the free shipping online, it was another 60 bucks but it has been worth every penny.

Coupons were nice at BJs, and with them their prices were a little better. But if your an online shopper Sam's is better. Same prices online and in club. Bjs sometimes charges twice as much for online and then charge you for shipping.

Also tryout members mark products from Sam's, great prices for quality items. Paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, BBQ potato chips (their regular chips weren't good) are all excellent buys.

Someone said road show products, that is absolutely Costco, they bring in weird/appealing stuff because they carry way less inventory.

Of course Costco is expensive. However, I think they are very good at this game. I recalled the appliances they brought in just before the summer to grab those Covid-scarred customers from Home Depot and Lowe's.

Good one that one in my book.
