Spoke with Sam's Club customer service about 2 weeks ago. Told your membership must be expired for 6 months before considered a "new" member sign up.

However, if someone else signs up as a new member then you can be their complimentary member no matter how long ago your membership expired.

I have both Costco and Sam's. I always get this Sam's deal. It always comes out free with deals like these. After going to Sam's and Costco's for 10+ years I have found some items at Sam's that I can't find at Costco. If I could only choose 1 membership it would probably be Costco but I really like Sam's too. I love the scan and go at Sam's. It really beats out having to wait in checkout to pay. Also the hotdogs are way better at Sam's lol.

Do you need a more compelling reason than free?

Crowds and scan-and-go are pretty stupid reasons to choose a store in my opinion. I go to stores for item quality and value. Costco has more quality items by far. Keep in mind I pick food based on ingredients they use. It's pretty much a no brainer for health-conscious people. Kirkland items are also better than Member's Mark for almost everything.
The no Brainer is that the grocery store is cheaper Smilie

I didn't see anything, but purchased my membership online and when I checked out (same day) it automatically applied a 45$ credit
Wait so this deal can be purchased online? I didn't realize that, seeing the terms and conditions that say, must sign up in store.

I'd love to get this done online. You never know what BF deal may come along, so I prefer to have a membership ahead of time if it nets out to free.

Yep. My consumption or usage habit does not justify paying Costco $60 annual membership. I don't need a gallon of mayonnaise.
You're clearly un-american if you don't need gallons of mayo.

The credit was applied to the total bill? I just signed up yesterday and went in store to get the card. Wasn't sure if have to wait 72 hours so we just browsed then left. Our local Costco is much better organized, cleaner and overall better food but for free why not.
correct, i think i rang up around $190, then as they completed the checkout it automatically applied the $45 credit.

How do Sam's tire prices and service compare to Costco?
Not sure about tires, but I discovered that car batteries were not only cheaper at Sams, but better specs (more CCA) as well.

Is there really an advantage to Plus over Amazon Prime?
Yes, certain items are cheaper, especially if you get their own brand (Member's Mark). Example, laundry detergent, trash bags, pancake mix, etc, etc. Try ordering one bottle of 100 oz diahwashing liquid for $6 with free shipping on Prime.

Wrong. Costco is cheaper on many items. If you don't mind low quality items then yeah grocery stores might be cheaper.

You clearly have never shopped at Costco. They have regular size mayo also. I get their Primal Kitchen Avacado Oil Mayo, but they also have cheaper unhealthy versions like Best Foods if you want that.

I enjoy Sam's Club like most everyone says Costco is better especially if your looking for high quality whole ribeyes and other meats. Hands down the best place to buy ribeyes(US PRIME). Most places like Sam's only carry Choice an Select with wording that can make a person choose a lower grade thinking they are getting a high grade. Back on topic they both have there positives and with membership practically free you might as well get it. If for nothing else but to walk around and try all there samples on Fridays.

There were no samples being given out, i assume to covid..but they did have people hassling about your cell phone service / tv service. I think the biggest pro to sam's club is the app that you can scan as you put in your cart, and make the whole checkout process quick/easy/simple.

If this were not free, i would pick costco over sam's...but sam's is fine

Went to store again, turns out 12365 is code meant for some optical sale.

The (nice) manager got a hard copy and entered a code, I paid $45 and got $45 gift card.
I did notice size 7 diapers (which is new).
Kirkland ends at size 6.

If you are not planning to keep membership long term, then don't buy from any clubs

-- Wait time is long (they want you to spend more time roaming in the club)
-- They don't have a hunter road force balancer

Give a shot for Discount Tire (B&M), many of the times they price match (within +/- $50 for 4 tires), their service is much better than these clubs.

I had to become a member again after 18 months, as my tires are due for a balance. I regret skipping Discount Tire price match.
