Emulation review also by ETA Prime:
https://youtu.be/xbKGl1EqgLg
- The type of ports available on this is just like that of the older 15-cx from 2018, namely three usb-a 3.1, one usb-c with DP, one HDMI 2.0.
- i5-9300H is nearly the same in single and multicore as i5-8300H from the older 2018 model.
- GTX 1650 is an incremental upgrade over the old 1050ti. It's about 20+% faster.
Alternative deal with AMD Ryzen 5 4600H CPU for the same price:

Best Buy (BB) vs Walmart (WM) version comparizon:
- The Walmart version has an IPS screen (TN on BB version) with better viewing angles, and higher 250 nit brightness (220 nit on BB version).
- The Walmart version has a USB 3.1 Gen 2 with Power Delivery (PD) and Display Port (DP) support, which means you can have up to 3 displays (laptop screen + 1 via HDMI +1 via USB-C to HDMI). (BB version can only support 2 displays: laptop screen + 1 via HDMI).
- The Walmart version has a newer housing/exhaust/hinge design, with improved cooling to accommodate the.power consumption of the Intel i5 9300H CPU (2 large exhaust ports on either side of the hinge).
- The Best Buy version has a newer, faster and more power efficient AMD Ryzen 5 4600H CPU, which means longer battery life when unplugged.
- The Best Buy version comes with faster 3200Mhz RAM (WM version has 2666Mhz RAM).
- The Best Buy version has a previous housing/exhaust/hinge design, since the AMD does not require the improved cooling of the newer design (one narrow exhaust port right on the hinge).

Did you even read the article? If so, you should've realized that he didn't figure out anything of value that most people that could do a simple internet search already knew (that Gateway's recent new line was not manufactured by Acer but instead by Shenzhen Bmorn). The only thing he added was the connection of it being imported by EVOO, which along with the title he chose, implied that it's "bad news" despite only referencing one negative review he made 3 months earlier of the $140 EVOO EV-C-116-5. Clearly, it is idiotic to review one of the cheapest EVOO models ever, and assume the rest of their products fall in line. Did we write off the entirety of Dell or ASUS (and others as well, too lazy to recall) when they decided to release some awful netbooks? The following quote is the only meaningful part of the entire article, yet I have not seen a single person echo this sentiment while referencing this article here on SD:
After actually testing a decent model, that same idiot reporter came back 11 days later and did a complete 180° with the new article's tagline "Gateway's GWTN141-2 is the best under-$400 laptop we've seen so far", before tamping down some of the hype for those that actually read the full article:
...
You should know what you're giving up by dropping down to this under-$400, ultrabudget laptop class—if you've got the extra $300 to spend, you get an enormous amount of additional performance, stability, and general quality out of an upgrade to Acer's Ryzen 7 4700U-powered Swift 3. But if you just don't have the extra money—or just don't want to spend it—the Gateway GWTN141-2 gets most jobs done just fine.
So again, I ask, what's your point?
