When you say Best Buy's has hinge issues, does that mean this one is different hinge wise?
No, same model BB and Walmart

L340 has worse thermals, single channel ram only (only 1 RAM slot, none soldered), and processor without iGPU (so it can't switch to integrated to save battery life/power). However, it's cheaper (I assume you bought it when it was $419 a few days ago) and I personally prefer the more subdued look.

BB's HP is IMO the better value, but it has known hinge issues. You might also get a few odd looks if you try to use the acid green laptop in any kind of professional setting.
Also, you're right, It WAS cheaper off the bat...but the extended geek squad warranty was like 155$...... for two years...with Walmart's warranty, I can get what looks like basically the same kind of coverage in a 3 year extended warranty instead of just two, and still come out about 40$ cheaper when it's all said and done.

Hinge is visually different. Much wider on Best Buy model.

Wow, thanks for that. I had almost convinced myself that I should get this but did a quick search to see how bad it could be.

May not be the exact same model but these look like the broken hinges you (and others) are referring to?

Good call, found one store a half hour away and placed the order. Definitely will be worth the drive.

Yeah like the Lenovo might only be single channel but at least it won't fall apart in less than a year.
